I love Destiny. But I'm effectively locked out from one of the best bits: raids. I realise that many - most? - players will have ready-made groups of friends who play destiny and so can easily form fireteams. I, however, know no-one personally who plays the game and so I have to rely on the tedious web route of looking for people in destiny.net or destiny.com, making friends and then doing the mission or whatever. It's hard enough trying to find people for a nightfall, but have you ever looked at the situation if you want to do King's Fall for the first time?
Inevitably I have no experience, so that counts me out of about 95% of the groups looking for members. And most of the rest specify minimum light levels of 310 or so - which I can't reach until I've done the raid!
I know that matchmaking for raids wouldn't be ideal for some, but making it possible wouldn't prevent people who do have online friends from carrying on as they are, while for the rest of us it would open up a whole new area of fun. Sure, not every raid would go smoothly, but that's better than not having the opportunity in the first place. (I'd argue the same for nightfall, by the way.)
I've got to the point where I'm making no real progress, and am almost resigned to leaving Destiny for other games - what's the point of playing if you're getting nowhere? So please, Bungie, enable matchmaking for this and other areas - it can't hurt those who can already form their own fireteams, but will be great for those who can't.
