What started to drive you away? What put the salt in one of our favorite gaming developers? What killed destiny?
I began to hate this game once year 2 content was deconfirmed

Let's bring this back shall we?

Honestly, for me Luke Smiths comment, it may have been light hearted, but it was insulting. After dedicating 1500hrs in to the game, when TTK dropped, me and my fireteam all decided to ditch Destiny. Moved on to COD for a bit, Fifa, and now awaiting The Division.

TTK is driving me away. Is become more boring than it was. I already had a tough enough time trying to join raids. Now the the ppl I played with left this game behind in October so I've been twiddling my thumbs trying to join raid group after the next every week with little to no luck and when I do join we never finish. Another reason I feel I'm on the way out the door is because of the lack of content they've given us. When I initially bought this game it was touted as a FPS RPG style game with an open world. That "open world" has invincible walls everywhere. Destiny, the original game($60) came with one raid, 5 strikes and pvp. Add in TDB and HoW($40) and you added a couple new strikes, some patrol added events, a raid, a new are(reef) and PoE. All that came at the price of roughly $100 or more. Then comes TTK with a new light system and completely rewrote how we levels up. Unfortunately along with that $40 dlc we received 3 strikes and one raid and "free events". Very light for a $40 dlc which on top of having little content for the price it also made the initial $100 worth of content irrelevant. Now, I can understand that content becomes old and is left behind but when a company releases a dlc for a disk the content on that disk should still be relevant. TTK wasn't some stand alone game, it was an add on A ADD ON. That shouldn't happen and if "this" is now the norm of how game companies are going to operate then I guess it's time for me to find a new hobby to spend my money on.

Where's the none of the above option?
-
I still enjoy this game. But SBMM is the final nail that's being hammered into my coffin. If it's not adjusted soon, I'm done.
-
Definitely the year 2 plan. Content was boring after a month. Loot drops are awful. Guns are all generic. No point to max light. Cosmetic events and microtransactions are lame. Crimson has the worst pool of "loot" i have seen yet and don't get me started on a love based event for chocolate......
-
So dramatic and childish, you basically said you hate the game because you can't buy and play more content. To answer your question, none of the above. I beat all challenges and have all exotics, so I leave happy.
-
The fact that people think TTK was worth the money has me laughing. Feel so cheated, TDB and HoW kept me interested longer. TTK seemed amazing, for 3 whole weeks.
-
I've come to terms with what we have. I'd rather play this empty hollo content than anything else.
-
The only gripes I have are the lack of clan management from within the game and the lack of optional matchmaking, but I am, as yet, undecided about when I will stop playing. I can say that I've been playing less than I used to. Perhaps, I am at the beginning of the beginning of the end.
-
Nothing I enjoy the game for what it is.
-
Seems kinda small compared to most of the issues but I really hate the limit on legendary marks. As an admitted causal player it can take awhile to earn them so it pisses me off that I can't continually run strikes or crucible to earn them.

Y1 staying behind

I would have gone with "allowing morons to put polls in posts" but didn't see it...
-
Biased poll is biased
-
lack of content/running out of things to play for.
-
I don't hate the game. Really, if you hate the game, there are things to do - go find them.
-
From what I've personally noticed, this game has been getting progressively worse and less fun over time. Public events: Pretty fun until the Taken Invasions started popping out. That and Court of Oryx downright sucks. Weapons: This issue has been going on for a long time. Pretty self-explanatory. Raid: Yields the highest end-game material, but it's pretty lengthy and tedious. Finding teams is at a low, not as bad as the Gjally requirements. PvP: Yuck. I remember being a sniper way back before it was cool.
It never was. :p
Year 2 in general marked the end for me. It is a mess. I'll continue to play some crucible and help my brother with his nightfall and a raid maybe, but I refuse to purchase anything else from Bungie.

Nothing to do, most of my friends list has moved on, terrible lfg raid squads, tired of waiting around for timegated stuff...

Edited by PeetSquared: 2/8/2016 8:46:39 PMLmao, you forgot the main reason anyone leaves a game, OP... Destiny has been out for a year and a half...almost six months since the last DLC. Many of us have accomplished our goals and are moving to newer games. This is a natural progression. Nothing sinister. Destiny could have done some things much better, no doubt...but it did enough things well that most of us sunk 100s of hours into it. We made friends, found loot and had lots of laughs. It's done, however. Time to move on. I'll be back for some Destiny 2, though.
