Stop connecting people from different continents
Yesterday I played a few games of Rumble and Skirmish, hoping to test the "new" matchmaking priorities, and [b]half[/b] of my opponents were from Europe, Asia, and South America. Game one: UK, Spain, France, and two empty slots at round start. I stopped after a game that had 0 players from the United States: UK, Poland, Russia, Italy, Finland.
I do not care how uneven the matches are; these are casual games, not league matches. Stop connecting high-skill players across continents. Destiny feels like a turn-based RPG with pings this high.

3 RepliesIt's not across countries that causes the problem, it's people with[b] third-world internet connections[/b]. I regularly play UK to USA on PC, no problems whatsoever, 100ms ping, the laggers in crucible have ping that if it was on PC would show as being 2,000-5,000ms (up to five whole seconds) which would either get you kicked or temporally banned on most other games. I play with a few friends in the USA on PS4 again no problems, but they don't have dial up as their connection so it works fine. USA to UK, Western Europe, Scandanavia or even Australia should be reasonable as long as they aren't on useless connections.

I'm not saying don't play PvP because 'reasons', just don't play so Bungie looses their precious 'numbers' so they're forced to revert back to connection based to increase their 'numbers'. Players have been quitting in droves because of SBMM, and Bungie needs to get the message that we HATE it when they shove it down our throats like they keep doing.

Bump. Should be 100 % connection. Forget skill. In a game that uses p2p, connection based match making should be the most important, not skill.

To match make in this game. THIS one where it is peer to peer and not have it match ONLY based on connection shows how out of touch the game maker STILL is.

For example I can (or at least could, recently it's been a cluster-blam!- thanks bungie) play with american friends from australia and so long as we get someone from west coast to host its fine. Very playable and no complaints from opponents. It's when shit goes low yellow-red that it's just painful/
