Cozmo, is Bungie done adding content for Destiny?

Just curious. Usually when someone inquires about a product they purchased or has a question for whoever they do business with, they get a response
Yep; they pretty much are, J. All their resources are going towards Destiny 2 at this point. There's a skeleton crew left manning the Destiny "wheel". Those left watching Destiny though, they think games should only be PvP shooters. They don't believe that PvE has any place in a game other than to get you into the PvP. How do I know? Look at their "Weekly Letdown" messages. Always and only PvP. Nothing is ever mentioned about PvE, and when they do rarely release PvE content; it eviscerates the PvE content you had previously, removes weapons and armors from the game, and they release PvP updates that (for some Trump-level-of-ignorance) completely trash the PvE side of the game (because they simply are not smart enough to realize that PvP changes do not work the same on the PvE side of the game...). So they've decided to shut their eyes and ignore the PvE side of the game completely, focus all of their time/energy on PvP, and they STILL manage to -blam!- up that. But eventually they'll release some PvE content. It'll have all of 4-5 hours of content, and they'll charge you $40 for it. Not only that, it will completely change and render obsolete, all the content released before it. So, you're left with 4-5 hours of content that's barely engaging enough to play through once, and then you hit the grind-wall. Again. And again. For every piece of shit DLC "lolExpansion" they release. New CEO or not, Bungie only cares about you throwing money at your TV. If you think that was a simple Freudian-slip from Luke, you'd be wrong. Look at what Bungie has/has not done with all of their updates, DLC, and weekly letdown messages. What Luke said is exactly what the entire company thinks about their Gamers and their game. Quality is secondary to getting you to keep paying a premium price for the lowest quality digital shit that they can push out of their digital rectum. And "Destiny 2" will be even worse.
--------
Destiny/Bungie RNG is designed to punish players, and artificially extend playtime. I've thought about this for a long time. I am now ready to post my thoughts. RNG itself is NOT punishing to players. Examples of good RNG you ask? Battlefield 4/Hardline The battlepack system is RNG based. You know why no one has ever said anything negative about it? Because there are only a few items that can repeatedly drop (xp boosts mostly). The items you really need (knives, scopes, camos, etc.) never double drop, the game actually knows what you have. Diablo 3 Can items repeat drop? Yes Are they sometimes weaker than what you have? Yes BUT! What saves it is you can increase the difficulty, which increases the power of items that drop. The Enchantress allows you to replace a useless stat with possibly something better. The Jeweler lets you attach things that increase the power of your items, but.... the game is consistently rewarding on it's own. Final Fantasy XIV Can you get repeat drops? Yes Are they weaker than what you already have..... that depends on the activity. In FFXIV RNG is there, however, it is very very clear where the best equipment in the game is, doing those activities provide a chance for it to drop. Once you see it, you and other players roll for it, highest roll wins. Need>Greed (there are basically 2 rolls you can make. If the item matches your class you can roll need, if it does not match you class you can roll greed. If no one rolls need, then the highest greed rolls win, otherwise the highest Need roll wins) The highest level activities always drop the highest level gear available, or the materials needed to make the highest level gear available. Destiny in an example of an abusive RNG implementation. The system is inherently designed to keep you playing the game as long as possible. There are X number of limited weekly events that are either 1. extremely time consuming or 2. extremely difficult that only have a chance to provide you with the highest level equipment in the game. Nearly all of them (save Iron Banner and SRL) require you to hunt your own team mates. Which in turn uses a game mechanic to get us to force the game onto others. So not only do I get sucked into a 1-7 hour raid (depending on the group), but I had to sucker 5 more people into it. They say 80% of your money comes from 20% of your customers. So it looks like Bungie's 20% are a bunch of sweaty 320 chasing try hards with 2000hrs+ in game. So it's painfully obvious why they cranked up the grind to 11, implemented this broken ass infusion nightmare, and cater solely to PvP (lately). That's the 20% that is dragging the majority of the other 80% of the people into this game. Even I have brought people into destiny, none of who play anymore because it's just not fun anymore. HoW had it right.... Max level gear dropping every where, rep gains were good, nightfalls were rewarding, etheric light made everything in the game relevant. Those were the good ol days.
The thing for me, J, is the content is there, it's just the crap loot drops are no longer worth the time invested. Why would I want to run the Nightfall for a horn? Why would I play Iron Banner for only one guaranteed item that I may not even want or need? Why would I run Vangaurd strikes for marks that I don't need because all of the vendor gear doesn't rotate? Why would i run KF over and over for non elemental primaries? The list goes on. Look at it like this, 3/4 or the playable content is irrelevant to a vast majority of the players. VoG, CE, PoE and all accompanying story content wasted. It could very well be updated, probably easier than creating something new. Hell, PoE gear was usless 3 months after it was released! Talk about a nut punch for purchasing HoW. Anyway, enough ranting. It's just ridiculous how little there is to do with all there is possible to do. Some may say " Play it because it's fun". Well, it was the first 100 times I did it. Now, its all about the loot. Without it, the game is to mundane. I actually stopped playing Destiny last night to play... Wait for it...
Minecraft! Can you' believe that? Don't judge me.
That's where I'm at right now with Destiny, and it pains me because I love this game.

Yup. They've already decided to take a half year break in between new content releases. Any other game tried to pull that shit it would be dead in the water by now.

        • I find the double RNG of the raid to be insulting. It's as bad as crappy micro-transactions you find in sh*tty bad mobile games. I have been trying for over 8 weeks with 3 chars to get a 320 class item, most of the times i get nothing, only Moldering Shards and when i do get something it's far from 320. The highest i got in these 2months+ was 316 (lower than what i already have in the 3 chars). If we consider that the chance of a class item dropping is 1 in 4 and that when it drops it can be from 310 to 320, the chance of getting a 320 class item is 2,5%. If the drop rate is 1 in 4, you would need to do 40 raids to get a 320 class item (and even then i doubt you will get one, the RNG in this game is the worst i have ever seen).

            • Yup people who have supported and defended Destiny since 2014 have had enough of Bungie experimenting at the expense of the players. TTK took 3 steps forwards and 5 backwards. Great content but far from enough to last the 6 months we're at now. A new light system to prevent the bullet sponge experiences of Year 1 but all it did was expose the terrible loot system in Destiny as OP has clearly indicated.

Anyone who played diablo 3 at launch knows it was at least just as bad as destiny is with rewards. Though I would say far worse, legendary items almost never dropped. When they did they were garbage, either through stats or for the fact that it was for another class. Likely still garbage stats for that class also. --------Seriously that game was a disaster at launch and stayed that way for close to 2 years. That is before they introduced the things everyone loves about it. While destiny was surely disappointing, much like diablo 3 I'm waiting patiently for that to change. The Taken King shows promise in that they are learning. So I wait for them to fulfill the expectations they made with the announcement of destiny.

I feel like now that destiny 2 was pushed to 2017(I believe so correct me if I'm wrong)there has to be some type of new dlc even if it's smaller like TDB,these little event such as IB,trials, doubles, racing etc etc just won't cut it for a whole year

I agree that HoW had it right. It was the most enjoyable version of Destiny I've played. I can't get excited about new content anymore. When Bungie finally releases some new content, they will try to make it last 8x longer than it should. It'll be so slam packed with RNG & BS that you will literally have to pay for any fun you have in PVE. That's how TTK ruined this game for me. I spent a ton of time playing this game in year one because I enjoyed it and wanted to keep playing. In ttk I haven't spent 1/10 of the time playing because I didn't want to. It wasn't as fun. It wasn't worth the time. Things like the fragment quest? I'll stand behind a horse and punch it in the ass before I do some BS like that again. I expect D2 to have more of that kinda BS. IMO, TTK pulled the wick out of this candle. It looks like a game but it's not fun. I've got plenty of chores in my life, I don't need to pay Bungie to add to that list.
