Hello everyone. Above is a link to an update made by EA Star Wars on social networking sites and their forums.
TAKE NOTES BUNGIE! THIS IS HOW AN UPDATE IS DONE!
Rather than saying, "we've got big stuff coming up and we might tell you about it in a week... or maybe a month" try doing it DICE style.
Rather than being vague and mysterious and disappointing, DICE has outlined the rest of the Battlefront DLC and you know what's in most of the DLCs? Content that was requested by the players.
Players were outraged by the lack of the Instant Action game modes, so DICE came out and said they're going to make one.
Bungie, learn from DICE, and actually make your updates what they're supposed to be... updates.
Sandwich, out.

Edited by CRockDad: 1/28/2016 12:16:14 AMGod I don't even play battlefront and that was refreshing to read.
-
I started playing Warframe, just to see what all the hype was about. And yeah, in a lot of ways Destiny is a much more polished game. But dear sweet baby Jesus Warframe is sooooo much better for updates, matchmaking, customization, and most of the things that actually make a game FUN. Oh and it's free. Battlefront has its problems too, but you're absolutely right about DICE as compared to Bungie. There's a level of professionalism and, if we're honest, technical ability that is sorely lacking at Bungie HQ.
-
People like to rip on them all the time but I love DICE and this is one of the reasons why - they aren't *ever* vague with their battlefield updates. They give long detailed (sometimes too detailed) patch notes and regularly ask for and take into account community feed back. Oh, and they actually run a PTR so the community can test changes before they are made final and go live. Blizzard has been doing this as well with Diablo 3 and I think WoW but not sure. There's a lot Bungie has to learn.

Edited by Onxide: 1/27/2016 4:17:36 PMThey need to learn a few things from 343.
-
Can't wait for Bespin and the Death Star!
-
Thanks for sharing this. This is an excellent example of communicating with the players effectively and staying in touch with the player base. Bungie, git gud and start learning what works if you wish for those revenue streams to keep flowing.
-
They added private matches and the game has been out for 2 months Destiny has been out a year and still doesn't have them. I love Destiny and Bungie but they really need private matches.
-
I just read "sandwich, out." Does this guy want us to all be perverted sandwiches?
-
I don't play that game and no plans to as far as I know and man I read all the info and was happy as **** I'm not sure why, LOL Bungie I agree with the guy you have to do Update News just like that.
-
It doesn't matter what you think about the game, the point this guy is making is that this is how updates should be done. What and when for the next few months, not "hey guys we are gonna put out a new event, we'll tell you about it next week. We are also gonna put out a February update then more content after that, but no one tells me shit so I don't know what is going to happen. We'll tell you about it eventually. Deej out."
-
I give the dlc packs 2 weeks before the game becomes stale again... There is no progression, yes you earn XP and credits unlock guns and skins then....nothing. You can't customise weapons everyone uses the same weapons depending on game mode it's disappointing.
-
Battlefront sucks ass
-
clearly you haven't been on the Battlefront forums or the reddit because all they've been saying since Launch is "soon", and having announcement about upcoming announcements with no actual concrete timeline. It took MONTHS of begging for a response from DICE before we got this update. soo no THIS IS NOT WHAT BUNGIE SHOULD TAKE NOTE OF.
-
Bungie can't learn from this because they are working too hard on stuff to tell us about the stuff they have been working on.
-
Need a JarJar DLC.
-
DICE has a different style than Bungie. Bungie has always been mysterious and cryptic about what's coming. Either accept it as part of how they do things at Bungie HQ, or go play a different game.
-
That game is the biggest pos in history bar the graphics. Jst my opinion. I do agree that destiny is vague as hell about the future we can expect
-
Edited by PurpleFyrus: 1/27/2016 4:39:32 PMHonestly, EA is still crap, Dice done goofed on multiple occasions. Only one that did an actually good job? Nintendo For Splatoon they have added tons of free maps, game modes and guns with no strings attached and free online (no ps plus or gold bs). Only company who did it "right." EA just released stuff that should already be in the game to make you feel like its free dlc to get you to come back and want to buy the season pass. Just a marketing tactic. Oh another company who done good was Valve with all the LFD1 campaigns for free cept Microsoft had to stick their nose in that business as well.
-
Too bad Battlefront is a failure and a disgrace to its franchise.
-
How can you compare the two? Dice is a legitimate game developer, bungo is... An "art" studio? Maybe?

Edited by ShawnsEPIC: 1/27/2016 2:19:09 PMFree content for a game that was gutted of all content lmao EDIT: Saying Destiny should be more like Battlefront is like saying Adele should try to be as pretty as Lady gaga.
-
Funny, because I seem to recall Battlefront EA having very little content compared to its predecessor from a decade ago. Adding stuff just makes the devs look good when they should have had way more from the start. Both Destiny and Battlefront EA were not what they should have been. New Bungie should learn from Old Bungie and not from DICE/EA.
-
While this is only half-relevant to the topic, can I just say- I so hope that Death Star expansion involves a trench run at some point. That'd make my year.
-
Please don't compare Destiny to that trash game, lol. I was bored with that game after 2 hours. People play Destiny for hundreds and thousands of hours. Those actions speak louder than any words will.
-
They are introducing private matches! See bungie, it's possible! And that game has only been out for a few months!
