The Atheism vs Christianity debate is hypocritical.

Both sides have their main theory of how the universe was created. Both theories have inconsistencies and areas where supporters fill in the blanks due to lack of evidence. Christianity: "God created the universe." Where'd he come from? "Not entirely sure, but I know future revelations will eventually reveal more." Atheism: "The universe was nothing, then the Big Bang happened." How did something come from nothing? "Well it was actually antimatter and matter canceling eachother out, and they created the Big Bang." If an equal amount of matter and antimatter created the Big Bang, why has all of the universe that we've observed so far been made up almost entirely of matter and not antimatter? "Not entirely sure, but I know future scientific studies will eventually reveal more." How about trying to prove your own theory instead of spending all your time trying to disprove others? Neither side has enough evidence and infallible logic to be considered correct, so calling out the opposition for being wrong is hypocritical. Thanks to Crazylincoln for the matter/antimatter theory I listed above (that still has gaps in logic): https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/188136438/0/0 Here's the link to the Wikipedia page on the Baryon Asymmetry, which I used above to show the major logic gap in the matter/antimatter theory Lincoln posted: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baryon_asymmetry UPDATE: It seems the Lincoln from that thread was actually an imposter, giving just one more reason to discredit him.

    • The ignorance is real here.
Both sides have their main theory of how the universe was created. Both theories have inconsistencies and areas where supporters fill in the blanks due to lack of evidence.
Uh, no. Creationism is not in any way a theory. It has no evidence at all, and all of its claims can easily be rebuked by basic science and common sense.
Christianity: "God created the universe." Where'd he come from? "Not entirely sure, but I know future revelations will eventually reveal more."
lol, no. No Christians actually say that. They just default to "God is all powerful, I have all the answers because the Bible says so".
Atheism: "The universe was nothing, then the Big Bang happened." How did something come from nothing? "Well it was actually antimatter and matter canceling eachother out, and they created the Big Bang." If an equal amount of matter and antimatter created the Big Bang, why has all of the universe that we've observed so far been made up almost entirely of matter and not antimatter? "Not entirely sure, but I know future scientific studies will eventually reveal more."
Two problems here: 1) Not all atheists believe that. The Big Bang and Atheism have nothing to do with each other. 2) You don't understand the Big Bang theory at all.
How about trying to prove your own theory instead of spending all your time trying to disprove others? Neither side has enough evidence and infallible logic to be considered correct, so calling out the opposition for being wrong is hypocritical.
Not at all. Again, the Big Bang is an actual theory. Creationism is barely a hypothesis, without a shred of supporting evidence. There is ample proof for the Big Bang.
Please go embarrass yourself elsewhere.

      • I will add nothing more to your post then this. Matter and Anti matter when in the same space cancel each other out leading to the Annihilation of both. We have Matter over anti matter because there was one more particle of matter for every 1000,000,000,000 particle of antimatter. Meaning when Annihilation had finished the only thing left was Matter.

Atheism is also a religion is why, they get more pissed than Christians if the word God is even mentioned. That conversation is always toxic, there God is Darwin or some other theory of something person, however you spell there names. We should just believe in what's right in front of us, each other, who cares what the person next to you believes in, it's a free country.
The Universe was nothing, and then the big bang happened.
Uh..yeah..no. From my understanding: You cannot create or destroy matter. Therefore, all matter has always existed in some form. (This also means that the Universe is finite, as for the universe to be infinite, you'd always have to have new matter, as infinity is..infinite. And stuff.) Because the Universe has always existed, however, it's time would be infinite- from "negative infinity" (past) to "infinity" (future). This means that an unfathomable- and yes, Infinite- amount of things has happened and will happen. Now, we also have this thing called Gravity. Gravity affects all things, however with increased distance comes less power. So, we a finite universe (with matter that has always existed) that has always existed and will always exist. Given these quite literally unfathomable amounts of time, I think it is a logical jump to say that, Due to the gravitational forces that are slowly exerted over these immense amounts of time, all matter will eventually be pulled together. And, of course, as more matter comes together, the stronger the gravitational force becomes, compacting the matter until eventually it cannot sustain itself, and a "Big Bang" happens again. Cue expansion of the universe, and the start of the process of it slowly coming together again. Admittedly, there are a few things out of my understanding. Black holes, how they interact with this and the happenings if two were to collide. Space itself and what it is. Etc. Frankly, these things are above my pay grade.
Which is 0, btw.
• Why do some think that atheism is the opposite of a religion. It ain't. That would make me a satanist as nearly all religions worship divine beings. ( Jedi would be an exception I suppose) I am a proud nothingness. I believe in nothing. Zip. Zero.nadda. Nichts I am not an opposite as I have nothing to be opposite to. Especially not religion. Stick religion where the sun don't shine along with all its opposites.

                • except god is an unfalsifiable claim. It's something that can't be disproven because it has nothing to prove it exists in the first place. If we went around treating every unfalsifiable claim with a book written about it true then we would all be fearing for our lives because non existent giant purple spiders with bird wings that eat people would exist.

                  • This is flawed because it assumes all atheists believe in the Big Bang, which they don't. All Christians do believe that God created the universe, though.

Actually there was slightly more matter than antimatter in the singularity when the big bang exploded otherwise the universe would be empty because matter and antimatter come into contact they cancel each other out. Least that's what my former high school teacher kept saying
but you are right the debating is annoying
Well, it's not anti matter and matter it is matter (which is positive) and gravity (which is negative energy), they cancel eachother out. Also atheists have a theory, christianity doesn't, it's a hypothesis at best.
How can you create a universe from nothing? Well if you calculate the total matter of the universe it is positive. If you calculate the total energy of the universe it is negative because of gravity. Gravity has negative energy. When you add the two together what do you get? Zero, so it takes no energy to create a universe. Universes are for free. A universe is a free lunch. - Michio Kaku
"Neither side has enough evidence" whilst I disagree with this statement (we have plenty of evidence that the Big Bang happened, we just don't know why) I would just like to ask if when you say "not enough" for the evidence for god, do you actually mean "any"?
