Who's up to critique?

I wrote another poem, and i'd like to see what y'all think of it. Always open to constructive criticism, speculations about what it's about, all of that. No draft is a final draft, and i'm always open to rewriting my work if I feel it isn't good enough. Anyway, hope you enjoy the read, if nothing else.
Can you hear us, from ivory towers? Voices from beneath your poison bowers, Calling out in hopes you hear us, A plea for help from far below. Can you see us, beneath your feet? Crowding the humbled, filthy streets. Huddled masses on chilly days, Trading privacy for warmth. Can you smell the scent of decay? The far, forsaken souls tossed away. The weak, the young, abused and abandoned; Blood, bone, and tears to fuel your greed. Can you bear that bitter taste? Will you change, or make amends? Will you heed the downtrodden choir? Lest your possessions be your only friends.
• I know this is a bit old and I am late; however, I'm in a poetic mood in this moment and just finished writing one of my own when I happened upon your work. I'll give it my interpretation and what it meant to me. :)
Can you hear us, from ivory towers? Voices from beneath your poison bowers, Calling out in hopes you hear us, A plea for help from far below.
Ivory towers suggest to me a higher being or something unnatainable and untouchable that holds power over something, perhaps over a broad group of people under the guise of helping i.e poison bowers something that looks pleasant but is in fact not.
Can you see us, beneath your feet? Crowding the humbled, filthy streets. Huddled masses on chilly days, Trading privacy for warmth.
The first line suggests what was hinted at before, something holding power over the POV being crushed beneath it. Crowded, humble - poor, filthy streets, so perhaps a 3rd world country or a downtrodden group of people. Forced together to survive, no room to be modest.
Can you smell the scent of decay? The far, forsaken souls tossed away. The weak, the young, abused and abandoned; Blood, bone, and tears to fuel your greed.
The last line I felt was speaking to me the reader, taking for granted everything in life on a daily basis never questioning what or whom was destroyed in the process so long as we live in comfort at the expense of others.
Can you bear that bitter taste? Will you change, or make amends? Will you heed the downtrodden choir? Lest your possessions be your only friends.
First line suggests a realization of the things mentioned above and asks as the reader's conscience. Heeding the downtrodden choir, voices of the weak and exploited, or else your material things will be the only thing left in your life. I really enjoyed the read, thank you for sharing, it's a great piece. I tend to gravitate towards more depressing subjects when I write, not that this was overly depressing or anything. Really hints at a larger picture in my opinion. :D
Sorry if the formatting is wonk, mobile phone.
• Reminds me of this one I wrote from the perspective of Dead Orbit's Arach Jalaal. The City is dead. But yet a means to a beginning. The others squander, With attempts at resurrection, Or petty secrets. But we are Astro-Mercenaries. We see a purpose in the Death. A light in the Darkness. We deny Ourselves passage On the back of a decrepit God; Cowering in the remnants of its dying light. We take hold of Our own destiny. Rather than reliving the glories Of days of future passed, We tear down these monuments to our sins And turn their “Golden” artifacts Into the cosmic fleet of a new Orbit. A Dead Orbit.

      • I like it. Is it from perspective of the people of the City, looking up at the guardians in the tower?

Very well thought out. Good Tempo. Deep meaning.

            • In your first three stanzas your rhyme scheme is AABC, but in your final one it completely throws that out the window. Personally, if I'm writing a poem I like it to follow a pattern the entire way. Other than that not bad. Perhaps try and adjust the wording in any sentences that you feel you could do better?

Very Nice. But why do you sound so gotdamn DEPRESSING??? What ever happened to flowers and love and joy and sunshine and fat @sses? Halmark will NOT be calling you to write their next card if this trend continues. Smoke some w33d before your next one and cheer up a bit. Eagerly awaiting your next, (not so making me want to cut myself) poem. :D
