If dot was removed from thorn(pvp only), would player care if it was yr2?
Title saids it all, this way it won't even be exotic( like most yr1and yr2 exotics xD). Remove dot, reduce range, but keep stability.
Edit: happy to see a lot of players who want to keep it the same. Just to be clear, when I Said keep it the same I meant keep it the same but the yr2 version. I know I got nerfed but Idgaf I just want a yr2 version. Interesting some players still wouldn't want it even if dot was removed xD. We all know it wouldn't be thorn if DoT was removed, I just wanted to see what nerfers would say.

It wouldn't be Thorn anymore without MoD. Range nerf important for this gun.

PvP players should not get the final say so, or any say so period, on whether or not a gun is OP. Especially when those same weapons are used in PvE. A vast majority of Destiny's player base plays PvE yet we have to suffer the bitching and moaning that results in some of our favorite PvE weapons being reduced to shit.

So if DoT was removed from Thorn, an exotic, what would make it special?

The only problem with Thorn's DoT is the shot gun that rush you and you don't land enough shots to kill, but they walk off and die. You get more kill that are traded, this is not a cheap kill, it's ok for Titan punch and warlock malee the burn from these kill over time but no oI n complains. Most complain is because they could not do the bounty and get the gun their self

I would be fine with thorn if the dot only dealt damage on precision shots, then it wouldn't be people just spamming body shots and getting cheap kills and you would need at least a little skill to actually make use of it rather than lazy players looking to boost their k/d by just shooting you in the foot 3 times to kill you

Thron stacks on repeated hit so if everyone uses it kills more effectlly this is the problem I have in too with some people you come across a whole team with it you wish they just ban all year one guns from too

Why remove DOT at all? People hate it because that's what they did to after a person runs away without landing a final shot right? So just make it so that DOT can't kill someone

"the best part about thorn is the ability to force a player to disengage." that is the part that people are complaining about because they don't want to be forced to run. Personally I find nothing wrong with the mechanic because you still need to hit 3 times to kill.

Meh, wouldn't bother me either way. I'd still rock my NTTE. Well at least on my hunter and titan anyway, my warlock seems to be glued somehow to the Tlaloc.

Instead of DOT, they should've made it so your shields and health don't regen for like 15 seconds after the last hit. That would still be a great perk and less annoying than being killed constantly by someone running away.
