Black spindle or thousand yard against bosses?
I believe that the black spindle beats the thousand yard in damage against bosses in the raid. Yet some still think the thousand yard wins.
Which one do you guys think is better?

6 RepliesFor warpriest or 6 orb strat on golgoroth, a triple tap 1kys will win in total damage over black spindle. Black spindle has higher dps though

I use black spindle on golg because you can't miss that crit. I use 1kys with spray and play on most other stuff.

Vendor 1K with reloader gauntlets does more that Black Spindle. I have both at 320, I only use Black Spindle on Golf because of the possible debuff.

got both at 320 and gotta say my 1000 yard with casket mag and triple tap puts up more damage at endscreen faster rate of fire and quick reloading on sniper

There's a dps comparison. If 1ks has spray and play and triple tap, and you have sniper reload gaunts, then it can definitely out dps the spindle.

Im gonna say i use 1k stare but i do have Black Spindel and i have boots and a body that lets me carry 24 sniper rounds and i hit all crits and i can still keep up with BS DPS cause eather way the time it take for me to duck into cover and reload pretty much take the same amount of time the same person with BS and ducking in and out of bubbles. Only reason u have 1k stare is cause i never had black hammer and i dont really like haveing a exotic as a secondary when i other weapon exotics i like but i still keep up with BS so it really depends on perks also

Maybe 10% (more like 5% or less) of 1000YS the rolls are good enough to compete with spindle. They do exist but are so rare that for the most part spindle wins. I have seen people use Sleeper but they don't win top spot but do get 2-4 in total damage. Bottom line: Black spindle with its perks is CONSISTENTLY the most [u]common[/u] [b][u][i]AND[/i][/u][/b]overall [u]efficient[/u]choice for raid bosses. However, in the right hands with the right perks sleeper and 1YS can beat it but it's not common or the person isn't effective.

Which boss? I like stare for warpriest and spindle for golgoroth.

Unless you're doing Oryx or the sisters, I'd go for the black spindle, despite the fact I never use it but I'd rather use touch of malice and 1K yard stare or stillpiercer. Golgoroth or warpriest probably I'd definitely go for spindle since you don't get invincibility so malice wouldn't be as good and their crits are so easy to hit.

Black Spindle wins in damage in pretty much every way. Though some parts of the raid it's impractical to use spindle when you could be using ToM or Sleeper.

11 RepliesEdited by Powerath: 1/9/2016 7:18:30 PM1000 Yard Stare. You're forgetting that most players will miss their three precision shots on bosses that move. Only thing Black Spindle should be pulled out for is Golgoroth since it pretty easy to hit those shots.

Really depends on the boss. 1KYS has potential to be better if you have the right perks (and moment of speed). You can also use the Sleeper Simulant with this gun. Spindle is a very reliable weapon that melts bosses. For Golgoroth, it's King.

I have the vendor 1kys with triple tap. I run faster sniper reload gloves with it. Its 320. When I raid I can usually outdamage black spindles. The thing is black spindle works great if you're never gonna miss a crit. I usually hit them but sometimes warpriest staggers as I shoot and its messed me up. So 1kys for me so I get near max damage even if you miss one crit. Also can run 320 sleeper simulant if running 1kys.
