Not All Guardians Are Created Equal [Inst #5]

Pale lids slid open over green eyes, their luminescence making a soft glow brush the room. She was wide awake. She rolled over onto her back and looked at the ceiling, then around the spartan room. So, it hadn't been a dream. Her Ghost was dark on the stand, his pale shell reflecting her light slightly. The undulating lights on her neck and chest illuminated her path as she made her way to the plastillite container that held her clothes. " Why are you awake?" Her Ghosts abrupt question scared her, making her jump, small sparks rippling off the tips of her fingers. When she recognized him she sighed. " You scared me Ghost, I can't sleep so i decided i wanted to go for a walk. Do you wanna come with me?" She looked to him with bright eyes, set on leaving. He sighed. " Cayde wouldn't want us to go, he said before we went to bed, to get some rest. Its only been six hours, and you need at least 8. Jadis, lets go back to sleep. Please?" He spoke even as she pulled on her clothes and withdrew her knife from the small box. He floated beside her even as she opened the door. " Jadis please!" But his soft pleas fell on deaf ears as she set her sights on the elevator at the end of the hall. With a determined creep she made cautious way, and encountering no one boarded the elevator with a mischievous smile. ____________________________________________ She could see them, there were only a few Guardians in the tower, several were at terminals, one was talking to Master Rahool, and one was speaking to the Bounty Frame. The Guardian that was speaking to the Cryptarch turned, and seemed to look straight at her through his helmet. She made a small sound of panic and hid again, hoping that she wasn't seen, but the steps coming towards her told her she was rumbled. She squeezed her eyes tight shut, and heard a sizzling snap. Thinking it was some strike against her she sprang back, but found that nothing was there. Everything had a strange, wavering quality to it, and her Ghost exclaimed into their mental link. " Jadis! You're invisible, we're invisible! That Titan can't see us!" Jadis turned to see a Titan that rivaled Zavala in size. Surely it was a He, for the way it was constructed did not speak of female to her. His chestplate was a deep grey, as was the Frilled helm on his head. The light surrounding the armor of his arms was a purple similar to the strip of light in his helm. He was very glowey. He seemed to shrug mentally, and just as he was about to turn and leave the sizzle happened again, and the wavering stopped. He froze for a second, seeming to take her measure, his head tilted ever so slightly. He moved fluidly as if on well oiled joints. He took to a knee and held out his hand cordially. " Hail young Madam, I Heit Custodavious-359. What may I address you by?" As he spoke the helm about his head dissolved and his face was revealed. The first thing she noticed was that he was an Exo. Secondly, that he had no eyes. As he spoke a deep, fiery red glow pulsed between his jaws and down his throat. As she watched two small horns became apparent on his forehead. A fire breathing, steelscaled creature that guards hoards of gold, flashed through her head. Dragon, he looked like a dragon. But, he didn't act like one? She smiled and giggled. " My name is Jadis, Why do you look like a Dragon?' She tilted her head as she looked up at him. He seemed to process this, until a yellow and orange draped ghost appeared beside him. It looked cheery enough, a femenine voice emitting gently from it. It looked at Jadis and epanded its apexes in greeting. " Hello, I am Alpha. Dave isn't a dragon, he's a Titan, but he might as well be! What ae you doing away from the city, and why can you go invisible?" The ghost scanned her and got a very offended huff from Ghost. " Excuse me, thats my Guardian." Ghost was quick to flit infront of her ray and haughtily pulse his apexes. She retreated to Daves shoulder and seemed almost sheepish. Jadis touched Ghost gently and smiled. " Yes, im a Guardian. Im getting trained by Cayde-6!" She crowed happily. Alpha blinked a few times and looked to Dave, a quick personal conversation seemed to transpire. She looked back to them and nodded to Ghost. " I apologize, I didn't mean to intrude. I am surprised at your age. To date you are the physically youngest Guardian we have encountered yet. How, how did you, how are you so young?" Alpha was certainly interested. Jadis shrugged " I just haven't grown up yet I guess." She seemed to take the prospect as an adventure, whereas Ghost took it as a hurdle. Dave seemed to accept this and nod. " Well Jadis," He nodded to Alpha, " I need to go back out into The Cosmodrome. I hope to see you again, sometime. Do you have a room here at thee Tower? Maybe you should go to bed." He nodded at her. Slightly disappointed she frowned, but did as he requested. As she walked away she could hear a snippet of their conversation, Alpha to Dave. " I keep telling you you look like a dragon, but do you listen?" __________________________________ She waited happily in the elevator as it descended, looking excitedly up at Ghost. When the elevator doors opened she hurriedly snuck back to her room, only to find Cayde-6 waiting for her at her door. She wilted noticeably as he shook his head and blinked. " Jadis," His tone was not forgiving, " Why are you up?" She looked away sheepishly, and then back. " I, couldn't sleep, so I went out and and i meta new friend!" She tried to throw it in a positive light, but he just shook his head. " Jadis, stay in your room. I f you come out again, before i get you, well, it'll be real bad. Go on!" He opened her door and ushered her in, a frown on his metallic countenance. She sulked in and flopped onto her bed, beginning to cry gently, ashamed and angry. Cayde listened on the other side of the door, still frowning. He mumbled as he walked away. " Man, I gotta get out of this Tower." ______________________________ Next Installation: Another lesson for Jadis and a trip into The Cosmodrome! Im really slow at this but they haven't stopped coming yet! I wanna personally thank Caladur for being there for the series yet so far. Your bumps keep me going!!
