A Simple Solution to the Lack of Variety

It's no secret that one of the most asked about things for this game has been better personal customization. It's been asked for since Day 1 in the form of transmogrification and a few other methods. Every DLC/expansion we've run into the same issue. Everyone eventually winds up using the same sets of armor, and the same weapon loudouts due to a limited number of choices for those that want to reach max level, or near it. Due to Bungie's decisions to leave old gear behind, forcing us to grab whatever new gear they have, whether it's slightly better, or marginally worse than their predecessors . In House of Wolves, Bungie attempted to remedy this by introducing Etheric Light, yet it seems, like Weapon perk re-rolling, they regretted the idea and chose to do away with it when the Taken King arrived. Understandable that they'd want to leave the Raid gear behind, yet there is no rhyme or reason for leaving non-raid gear at lower levels, thus limiting our potential choices. What I'm proposing is a simple, and obvious solution. Add all non-raid Legendary gear from past DLCs, and even Vanilla Destiny, into the Year 2 loot table. That includes all the Vendor and Faction Gear. Place them into the loot table for us to acquire at random, at current light levels. Make them Infusable. Give them Year 2 perks. There are plenty of players, myself included, who more than likely yearn to be able to reacquire and use our old favorites. Lord High Fixer, LDR 5001, Cryptic Dragon, the Ghost Angel Cloak, the warlock's Nergal armor set, Shadow Price. All of these things that we have likely long since dismantled because we needed the Vault space. If Transmogrification isn't a plausible possibility, then this would be the next best thing. On another note, Etheric Light. It's practically useless to us now. It doesn't have to be, though. It could be given a new use. The ability to "Ascend" Year 2 Rare gear into Legendary variants with an Infuse node and a randomly selected Legendary upgrade tree upon being upgraded. There are some nice looking Rare armor and weapons in the game, but they're all stuck being, well...Rare level. Allow us to upgrade them. It would give us even more choices for what we want to equip without worrying about our Light level plummeting.
