This video displays my thoughts exactly.
If it does for you, bump this post, and retweet this video to bungie and any other players so we inform others who don't know about this edit and don't get told more bullshit like this
TL;DR:
Bungie tells us they will be buffing autos a bit more. Turns out after 3 weeks of their numbers being thrown around everywhere, they meant to buff them by less than 1%. Then they pull a bullshit scenario to how that will supposedly help us, but you know a .7% buff to your bby zhalo won't do anything. Similar shit like this happened b4 and referenced.
EDIT 1: Found some posts that I thought were pretty good

So high RoF autos get a 0.04% buff. And this is supposed to accomplish... what exactly? Let me round that out. It appears it's a 0% buff, funny enough. I don't see how you intended to do a FOUR HUNDREDTHS OF A PERCENT increase to damage.
While I'm here, R.I.P. Lyudmila-D. Poor bastard got drop-kicked by a 19% nerf.
I'd say I'm about 4% happy with the auto buff.
Edit- I'm actually 0.04% happy
From another forum post
Longer one, but goes into important detail to help the unsure ones get convinced

Just lol.
Are you honestly trying to convince your playerbase that you actually intended to buff auto rifles by less than 1% this entire time? You posted the notes regarding the auto rifle buffs 3 weeks ago. During that entire time everyone was talking about the supposed values you put out (7%, etc.). Do you mean to tell me during the last 3 weeks that people have been talking about these buffs, no one in your company noticed that players were discussing "incorrect" values? Cozmo, who supposedly reads these forums, never once noticed that people were using 7%, rather than .7%?
Your explanation is utter garbage and you know it. You're not fooling anyone. If you actually intended to buff the auto rifle classes by less than 1% each, then why would you even bother acting as if you're making a meaningful change?
The truth: At best, you've shown yourselves to be completely incompetent and out of touch; why in the world would you buff a gun type by less than 1%, which produces no impact whatsoever in-game? How do you fail to correct that "error" for over 3 weeks? At worst you're blatant liars who are so full of themselves that you couldn't admit to a simple mistake and just own up to it. Considering how ridiculous the notion of a .7% buff is, I'm sticking with the worst case scenario because I refuse to believe that your developers are legitimately that incompetent.
Your company has always been vague and disingenuous from the get-go, but this is truly a new low. I've said it before and I'll say it again: your PR team is straight-up amateur hour. You've made a mountain out of a molehill because you insist on blatant dishonesty rather than apologizing for simple mistakes. The Sleeper Simulant debacle, IB loot "glitch", Husk of the Pit bug.. just lol.
Edit:
How did nobody notice this for a month prior to the changes going live?
Unfortunately, I don’t have a good answer for this.
This quote from the weekly update says it all people; Bungie has just admitted their own incompetence.
What is the point of increasing damage if the numbers don’t go up?
Specifically for PVP, add precision damage scaling and the barrel upgrades that scale up Impact available on Exotic and King’s Fall Auto Rifles, and you’ll start to feel the new change a bit more.
This quote just proves that they're blatant liars as well; we already know that these changes had absolutely no impact in PvP and precision damage which is how this whole thing came up in the first place. I'm honestly in disbelief that they're trying to convince us that a .78%/.30%/.04% buff is anything other than hilariously trivial and delusional.
Bungie, for the love of God, stop embarrassing yourselves. I'm legitimately cringing at this point. I especially enjoyed the acrobatics you tried to pull off to cover-up the fact that there is no substantial content (ie. raids) coming out in Y2. That was some messy word salad even for you guys.
Another forum post, very accurate to what I'm thinking of as well
*Edit 2:* Another post for the TL:DR folks out there
https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/179402896/0/0
*EDIT 3:* This one is more out of topic but I think you should also check this out. Then tell me that Bungie hasn't been a bit shady as of late.

I saw it this way the code department gave numbers to the public interfacing department, those were wrong. The public interfacing department thinks the numbers are 7% 4% etc.. and allows the community to think it, because as far as they know its true. The code department..continues coding. Patch day comes out, community says wtf?...wheres my 7% public interfacing says Hey code dept...wtf wheres the 7%.. code department says..ummm its .7 dummy.. and then sees they wrote the wrong numbers..fak This sort of crap happens in my workplace all the time. A customer service rep will tell the customer they can get 150Mbps speed. Then a technician will be sent out to address speed issues, we get there and are like...we don't have that speed capability in this area etc... and its a big miscommunication between departments. I don't think we were purposefully lied to. Pesticles are reallllly reaching lately.

And now, I've lost faith in the destiny community. It's a game, This is not your life. Stop complaining so much! Why would you care about a stupid mistake? "But bungeeee LIED to us. Destiny dead. I'm going back to _____." Yes, the patch note said 4-7% increase and it became a 0.004. That's ok. Bungie can change its game however they want. It actually says the game is entitled to change. It my not be how the consumers like it, but it changes, and either move on, and look like an entitled brat for leaving over something that they "lied" to you, or you can accept it, and just use it how it is or just find other Weapons you like. Rant over.

Activision/Bungle Holiday Party Big wigs: "We are happy to announce that everyone will be getting 4% raises this year" Bungle employees: Cheers around the room. A month later when the first checks with their raises are handed out- Bungle employees:" What? Where are our raises that we were told about? Um?? Big Wigs, we have all noticed some discrepancy on our checks as to our raises, and it seems you took away some other benefits without telling us either." Big Wigs: "We're sorry everyone..there was a typo in the speech at the Holiday Party and we didn't catch it. As to why? Well we don't have an explanation for that. What we really meant was that you will be receiving a .04% raise. Now we heard you all happily having discussions about how this would benefit you and what you could do with this extra money, we even joined in on some of these conversations. But in the end we don't know how we didn't catch our error. Now you might be disappointed at this .04% pay raise...but as you see...you don't really see any extra money on this check..but by the end of the year, 52 checks, you will see how this raise has made % of pennies into a dime or so . Now go lie to our fan base some more and make us more money. Oh and yes we did make some of your benefits smaller and hoped you wouldn't catch on..Shame on us.."

In all honesty I have noticed a faster time to kill with auto rifles.
-
Edited by A Wild Zebra: 12/13/2015 5:56:04 PMAuto rifles are already good! They didn't need a buff in the first place! Zhalo is already a very good weapon. Nothing can compete with Monte Carlo at close range. Haakon's Hatchet is also an amazing auto rifle. Doctrine of Passing melts people. No joke! Melts them! Like a witch in water. Just give them a chance and you'll see they're already viable options at close-mid range.

You do realize this could potentially have just been a valid mistake, right. Cozmo could have seen all of the posts about 7% and considered they were reading the number 0.07% wrong, assuming it was a decimal instead of a percent While, yes, this is incredibly lazy, it's also not that big of a deal. TL;DR: Who cares

Kinda like how they've didn't notice black spindle bug

Edited by Elin_Nordegren-: 12/11/2015 5:54:34 PMIMO, they have gone way too far with all the changes to weapons. This game is a mix between PVP and PVE yet they keep making changes to adjust for PVP. If they want balance, just have preset weapon load outs. It would have been much better to have an option with loadouts for the whiners who couldn't be bothered to go grind for the best weapons. I always thought the point was to work for the best stuff so you could dominate in PVP. Why even have exotics or different weapon types if you want everything to be the same? The game is much less fun without OP weapons both in game play and in hunting for them. They should put things back and make weapon load outs in PVP so the rest of the game isn't effected.

Im not that mad, because I just got the trials auto rifle and it MELTS people.

Yeah serriously SCREW YOU BUNGIE

This reminds me so much of Office Space... Peter Gibbons: Michael! Michael! You said the thing was gonna take two years! What happened? You said the thing was supposed to work. Michael Bolton: Well, technically it did work. Peter Gibbons: No it didn’t! Samir: It did not work, Michael, okay? Michael Bolton: Okay! Okay! Okay! Samir: Okay? Michael Bolton: Okay! I must have put a decimal point in the wrong place or something. Shit! I always do that. I always mess up some mundane detail. Peter Gibbons: Oh! What is this fairly mundane detail, Michael? Michael Bolton: Okay, quit getting pissed at me, all right? This was all your idea, asshole! Peter Gibbons: All right. Okay. All right. Let’s try not to get pissed off at each other, all right? Let’s just calm down. Let’s try to figure this thing out together. The first thing we gotta do is we gotta close that account down before it gets any bigger.

Bump if you're a day 1 player and your patience is wearing thin. .7? Wtf bungie

Edited by MAD X H0USE: 12/11/2015 1:53:24 PMFor example: Arminius-D deals 16 Damage on Critical hits. Arminius-D holds 66 rounds in a magazine. (With Samllbore) 16 x 66 = 1056 dmg/mag 1056 x .004 (.04%) = 4.224 1056 + 4.224 = 1060.224 per magazine. 4 extra damage per magazine. There's not a single instance in the entirety of the Destiny Universe in which 4 pts of damage would make even the tiniest difference. GG Bungie.

Patch 2.1.8.2 Weapon damage is now RNG.

Edited by Kilerdrake: 12/12/2015 12:24:05 PMWho straight up lost their shit at 16.0064 damage??
seriously 0.0064 increase... A fart does more damage than that ffs

I swear bungie must work in cells ffs and communicate once every blue moon, how do you not notice everyone was speaking about different and incorrect numbers??
First off, it wasn't Bungie as a whole that messed up. It was ONE GUY who already admitted he -blam!-ed up. Get over it children!
-
-
But, I don't get it. What does Bungie gain from all this?
-
So many children, just looking for an excuse to lash out. As if they're perfect. As if they've never made a mistake and not realized it until much later. The simple fact is, the tweaks are fine. While I think PRs got hit a little hard, it was somewhat needed, and the only real way to knock down the kill times. What a sad bunch of hypocritical sheep, hopping on the bandwagon without taking a second to think for themselves. It's almost a pity the irony is lost on them.
