In Destiny's Event Based Model, Console Exclusive Events are Going too Far

Written by a user u/GavinDarkliter on Reddit. As an Xbox user, this explains our frustrations with console exclusive content. It's not ethical to have us pay the exact same price for less content, no matter what it actually is. Bungie, As one of your loyal players on Xbox, I've stayed with the game from beta until now, through the PS exclusive strikes, weapons, and crucible maps. We hate it, oh, please understand we hate it, but we love the game enough to play on, and we think that maybe, just maybe, this divide will equalize. Maybe in later years of Destiny we will achieve parity with our Sony brethren. But you've made it crystal clear in your grudge match with Microsoft that you're doubling down on console preference, not relaxing it in any way. Now that we've apparently kissed "monolithic DLC packs" goodbye, what we as a player base have to look forward to (presumably until Destiny 2) is an event based model to maintain player engagement, and it's been announced that Xbox will be missing out on at least some of the events to come (See link). You're alienating us. And you can trot out Deej to give us a "we love all our gamers the same" company line, but your actions have spoken, making it clear that this is not the case. You're treating us poorly. I'm not foolish enough to think that player complaints will put an end to this, and I'm not going to make empty threats about walking away from the game. Just remember that your fight is not with us, and know that you're damaging your brand in the eyes of many loyal gamers. We love you. We'd just like you to love us back. Sincerely, GavinDarkliter
