Let us be able to change factions while wearing our Exotic Cloaks
After reaching rank 25 with Dead Orbit and obtaining my awesome exotic cloak i decided to switch to FWC to see if I could get the faction ship because it looks so cool! The moment I switched factions was the moment I wanted to throw my controller. Without ANY WARNING I was unable to wear my hard earned cloak all because i switched factions.
I am already the CHAMPION of dead orbit, i have every shader, emblem and ship. There's no reason for me to stay with them since I have all of the loot! I want to be able to play Destiny the way I want to play and having a limitation like this really turned me off to playing the game for the rest of the day and even the days after.
Bungie, please allow players to change factions whenever we please and let us keep wearing our exotic cloaks! If anything, at least have a warning pop up warning players that they will no longer be able to wear their exotic cloak once they switch to a different faction.
Imagine a player infusing their cloak to 310 so that they could wear it in raids and such. If they can't wear it, now all of a sudden their light level drops and, since they infused the exotic cloak, they have little to no options to bring their level up to par with the exotic cloak.

2 RepliesFaction grinders are basically working hard to get gear that they can't wear because they like to faction grind all the factions. I personally would like to master all of the factions, and i should not be punished but rather turn all my faction cloaks in and get an uber master faction cloak as a new member of the 9. I worked for my current cloak. It is poor game design to basically tell me i need to quit factioning in order to wear gear that i clearly earned. I guess i can wear the cloak forever if i put it on and quit the game. Ps. The stats on the faction cloak are functionally worthless. They should have unique mastery like plus 2 damage for scout rifles. You want to make gear matter, give every faction a weapon speciality and watch every player push out factions in order to swap cloaks for different situations.

2 RepliesHad to deal with that for the no time to explain quest. Get a legendary class item with close to the same stats and use it until you get the ship is all I can say. I had to do raids with a 290 bond cuz of it xD

2 RepliesNot a bad idea for those who like what they get out of the factions and want more. But, universe-wise (bear with me a moment) it makes sense that you can't wear something representing a rival faction. Game-wise: Good idea. Universe-wise: What happened makes sense. Just my two cents...

1 ReplyThree classes and three factions. I run each class a different faction. Have all 3 exotic class items. Do not agree with this. Why should you wear a dead orbit mark cloak or bond when you want to run alliance to a different faction. Makes no sense. How are you gonna work the bonus faction rep. Yes it is a small amount but where would it go.

7 RepliesIt wouldn't make sense if you could wear a factions cloak as their champion while your currently allied with someone else. That'd just be weird.
