So, what do you think? Post a song from your game/series too, if you'd like!
I think that every series I listed above has come out with some very amazing music. (Yes, even CoD. Don't let your dislike of the series blind you from some of the great music it has! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOcXB_Kj0BE)
All of those games' music have made me feel powerful things. While the masterful orchestral music of games like Halo and Metal Gear are amazing, I have to give my "best music in a game/series" award to the game I've kiiiiiind of made a couple threads on recently... Killer Instinct -- The first game I've played whose music isn't mainly orchestral yet has still made me love its music so much. So many of its songs are just sooo powerful. They make me want to cry from excitement on a regular basis.
(Extra ramblings and explaining that you don't care about)
Killer Instinct is just soooo good with its music. The sounds of navigation through menus makes a little musical tune. When someone does an "ultra combo" at the end of a match, the music changes and becomes synced to the attacks. And as you go into a finish one round of the match and go into the next, the music transitions into another section of the song. It's so great.
