Personally, I really miss year 1 destiny because the hunt for exotics felt much more exiting

Edited by Lord Gheleon: 12/1/2015 5:00:49 PMWhen I first played Destiny at my friends house, it was completely beautiful. I got it myself at christmas, couldnt play it (if you recall the lizard squad incident) but after I defeated the story and dark below destiny lost its lustrous shine. I went through the forums and people pointed out all of the flaws and mistakes and I realized that I unconsciously found these flaws too just never pointed them out, so year 1

Reaching max level was not that hard and activities were a lot more rewarding.

Community: "I want it to have a y2 version" Community: "Bungie's so lazy. All they do is recycle content."

I feel the same way about exotics, they hand them out wwaaaayyyy to easy. There not exotic a good legendary is harder to get than an exotic.

Edited by gangam38: 12/1/2015 4:31:26 PMI miss y1 because of ICEBREAKER
-
I miss Dark Below, and the excitement of getting my first Ghally. No exotics really have made me feel like that...
-
I miss year 1. VoG, elemental primaries, old exotics, more verity in strike playlists, combined arms.
-
I just miss etheric light giving us a way to bring gear up to max level. Having to dismantle 3 exotics to get enough shards to bring an exotic up to 310 (infusing with even more exotics farmed with 3 of coins) is idiotic. Only year 1 exotic I have left is ghally since it took 49 weeks to get.

Sword of crota was a fun guy....

Edited by pixelmagic: 12/1/2015 9:36:46 AMFar too early to judge. Year 2 isn't even 3 months old yet. Going back to where we were pre TDB compared to now the game is in a good place, still needs a lot of work but it's better. People have run out of things to do because the exotics are mainly quest based rather than RNG, but the reason this was changed is because the forums were full of complaints about RNG locking people out of stuff back then (no gally = kick)! Even now the raid complaints are about RNG, if it was removed for a set weekly reward we'd be back to complaining there's nothing to do. It's a vicious circle, bungie will never win. I also see a lot of comments about missing VoG and fatebringer. Why not go and run it if it was that much fun. It's still there... Use fatebringer too. It's allowed. I've kept all my raid gear, it's fun to equip it and go back in. After etheric light toward the end of year 1 I don't delete my favourites, you never know what may happen and the vault is plenty big enough.

I miss my fatebringer and playing Vog with everyone

The game is a better game now in many regards. The main reason people think they miss year 1 is nostalgia, everything was new and exciting then.
-
Just that hunt for gally
-
I miss Vanilla Destiny

Year one end game progression felt more rewarding with elemental primaries and gear to show off. Although many looked similar, still felt more accomplished tHan this never ending grind
-
Year 2 for me because in year 1 RNG was bullshit and the only people who could raid were people that got lucky with RNG and got Gjallarhorn or bought it from Xur. You didn't get rewarded for anything and for some reason people miss that...? Year 2 is much better. I only wish they would fix the forums and ban the idiots that make stupid posts but at this point it would be impossible. (Not saying your post was dumb btw, talking about other posts.)

Miss raiding with my year 1 friends. I upgraded to Xbox one from a PS3 when taken King came out. Really regret it. Lost all my year one gear along with the memories :'(
-
Y1, better raid, better level system, no timed gate crap. RNG was/is terrible, but gave me a reason to play.

I miss all the old weapons and the chase it took to get them. It's upsetting to look in my vault and see all my year one exotics, raid, IB and ToO gear and weapons sat there now rendered obsolete after all the hours I put into getting them. I haven't enjoyed any legendary/exotic drop anywhere near as much as in TTK as much as I did in Y1. Also beating oryx for my first time the other day since coming back to destiny was nowhere near as satisfying as the other two raids. Particularly the first time I beat VoG which was one my favourite gaming experiences ever. I also don't know now if Bungie have it in them to produce something as magnificent as that raid again. The other two don't compare.
-
I miss it because we never had such complicated ways of doing things; everything was fun and simple.
-
To put it plain and simple, I just feel year one had weapons and perks that I actually looked forward to getting, or strived to get. I feel like I'm playing now just to stay caught up.
-
When nightfall and weekly were worth doing? When hard raid bosses were beatable with lfg groups? When they didn't mess iron banner? When the raid gear that you got was first tier always? Bungie has gotten many things right with the taken king, but they messed up the things that mattered to me.

I miss big Papa P.

I think we're all a little too quick to judge year two yet. Rewind it back to year one, so exactly a year from now. I believe TDB did not even release yet, and we had little content in Destiny. It's the exact same in year two, but we have more endgame content (ToO, Raid challenges...soon) Therefore, I believe we're judging a little to quickly. It's a little biased to compare Y1 in its entirety to 3-4 months of Y2. If you think about it, Destiny did the exact same thing the Bungie halo's did: Memories. We made a crapload. The only difference is how many of those were good. -The guy with no house.
