Gunsmith In Review: November 25.

Edit2: After having played around with it, the weapon I would recommend picking up above all others is the Zarinaea-D. The roll I recommended works really well in both PvE and PvP (well, it's an auto rifle) and will only get better in 2.1. Edit: Because I'm old and apparently have dementia, I forgot that I had actually ordered both Suros rocket launchers as well. My apologies. Here we go: Suros JLB-42 An excellent rocket launcher with an 84-67 blast radius to velocity ratio. This week's rolls are: 1. Heavy Payload, Flared Magwell, Who's Next, Perfect Balance, Snapshot. 2. Single Point Sling, Speed Reload, Tripod, Javelin, Quickdraw. 3. Single Point Sling, Flared Magwell, Spray and Play, Javelin, Lightweight. TL;DR: Keep it until next week. None of these rolls is good. Suros JLB-47 An even more excellent rocket launcher with an 84-74 blast radius to velocity ratio. This week's rolls are: 1. Single Point Sling, Speed Reload, Reactive Reload, Javelin, Snapshot. 2. Heavy Payload, Flared Magwell, Spray and Play, Javelin, Snapshot. 3. Heavy Payload, Speed Reload, Reactive Reload, Javelin, Quickdraw. Again, none of these rolls is really that good. Granted, I haven't seen Reactive Reload that often on a rocket launcher. It might make it interesting for PvE. Since there isn't Grenades & Horseshoes, Tracking or Cluster Bombs on either roll, I'm keeping all mine until next week though. Original post: Alright, so this week the Gunsmith brought.. ..well.. ..I'm starting to suspect he might be related to Xur. Häkke Zarinaea-D The Zarinaea-D is a "med" RoF auto rifle in the Zhalo Supercell archetype. Currently not the most OP in the world, but a weapon class that will receive an 7% damage buff in the upcoming 2.1. patch. 60 aim assist, 40 equip speed. Average. This week's rolls are: 1. Crowd Control, Counterbalance, High Caliber Rounds, Speed Reload, Rifled Barrel. 2. Army of One, Feeding Frenzy, High Caliber Rounds, Fitted Stock, Rifled Barrel. 3. Partial Refund, Spray and Play, Snapshot, Hand Loaded, Smallbore. In my opinion there isn't a "OMG get this and tell mom" roll, so it pretty much comes down to personal preference. I chose the first roll myself. Crowd Control isn't that great on an auto rifle, but every little damage increase helps. Counterbalance will get the recoil manageable while High Caliber rounds will stagger enemies a bit (This was a hot topic for debate last week, but as proven in an excellent video, HCR only really work on auto rifles. They add a bit of flinch to pulse rifles, but it's not much. On hand cannons and scout rifles, they make zero difference.). Rifled Barrel is also an excellent choice as it increases the range by a lot while only reducing reload speed. Will it be better than something like a Righteous VII? Maybe not. But a really solid auto at least. My favourite weapon out of this week's batch. Omolon Kumakatok HC4 The Kumakatok, which apparently means door knocker, is a 32-74 hand cannon. It's got decent aim assist (74) and equip speed (71). Granted, hand cannons aren't in an ideal spot at the moment, but they will be buffed in 2.1. This week's rolls are: 1. Third Eye, Quickdraw, Injection Mold, Life Support, Exhumed. 2. Third Eye, Quickdraw, Reinforced Barrel, Icarus, Exhumed. 3. Mulligan, Snapshot, Injection Mold, Life Support, Eye of the Storm. To me, the clear winners are the first and second rolls. Third Eye is always good if you're a radar whore like me, while Quickdraw is great for getting finishing shots off after a sniper body shot. Life Support can be a life saver, no pun intended, while Exhumed may have its purposes (though I rarely find it that useful). If you can handle the recoil, Reinforced Barrel will up your range while also increasing accuracy and aim assist. Icarus actually works on hand cannons. I went with the second roll, but this likely comes down to personal preference. Häkke Herja-D The Herja-D is a mid-RoF pulse rifle that, like all Häkkes, fires four shots in one burst and pulls to the left while doing it. Consequently, you're looking for Counterbalance to go with the usual stability upgrades. 50 aim assist, 45 equip speed. Meh. This week's rolls are: 1. Surrounded, Zen Moment, Single Point Sling, Speed Reload, Reinforced Barrel. 2. Glass Half Full, Rangefinder, Snapshot, Speed Reload, Reinforced Barrel. 3. Crowd Control, Zen Moment, Single Point Sling, Speed Reload, Reinforced Barrel. None of these rolls is amazeballs. I haven't really played around too much with Zen Moment on a pulse rifle to know if it's a game changer or not, but I'm going to say that it's probably worth waiting a week to see if you can get one with Counterbalance and something like Hand-Laid Stock. That's it. For next week, you'll be able to order the Suros Dis-47, the Omolon Tuonela SR4, the Omolon Kumakatok HC4, the Omolon Uffern HC4 and the Suros PDX-45. The obvious choices are Dis-47, Tuonela and PDX-45. Order them NOW if you have the cash. Finally, I kept one PDX-45 from last week. The rolls I can get for it this week are: 1. High Caliber Rounds, Oiled Frame, Hip Fire, Single Point Sling, Injection Mold. 2. High Caliber Rounds, Casket Mag, Rodeo, Lightweight, Injection Mold. 3. Hammer Forged, Oiled Frame, Outlaw, Lightweight, Smallbore. Again, not one god roll among them. However, the third roll is solid. Hammer Forged and Smallbore will both increase range, while Smallbore also increases the stability. Outlaw will make up for the fewer bullets. Given that you can order the gun again for next week, you might as well pick one up and get another one. That's it for this week. What did you all think? Good? Bad? What about the two weapons I didn't review? Let's hear it!
