Reffer a friend is a slap in the face for veteran players
When TTK launched I made almost 20 of my friends to get the game at launch they are already lvl 40 300+ light with their 3 characters and now I have to do the same thing again?? Why bungie why do you always made this stupid and dumb mistakes? Why wasn't this released when the game launched???

What do you think about this idea? Instead of the "refer a friend quest" Bungie should have done something different. They say they want sherpas do a favour. That's a good thing but the implementation isn't well. So what's about doing "Raid-Sherpas" a favor. Something like to take someone with you who never finished Oryx. If you do so you get a special reward or your whole team have increased chances of good loot or whatever. This will change something in this Community. Instead of you must have (insert weapon/lightlevel) there are posts like "you have to be new to Raids". I think this could be a benefit for the Community instead of grabbing higher revenues.

hey year one veterans! we know you brought all of your friends in earlier so that they could buy our other crap expansions to make us more money! so we present our highest thanks to you by allowing you to refer your friends so that you can once again make us more money because deej spent it all on weed so we only will reward you with cosmetic crap and a dumb sword for making us more money! what? penny pinchers you say? why no my friend, you see here at BUNGIE our job is to completely ignore the community and treat them like garbage, never fix our servers, etc, etc, so to reward them for their suffering we will once again out of the countless amount of times we will -blam!- them in the butt!

Hate to say it but I totally agree with this refer a friend thing being a snub in the y1 and TTK newcomers. So many players helped keep this games player base growing and now what? Will there be any retroactive references? Doubtful. But all slaps in the face aside the refer a friend initiative before the year and a half mark is quite damming. It is an ill omen.

They didn't release it because they weren't desperate then. People are leaving in droves for Fallout and Halo and Bungie is trying to maintain a player base without doing any real work.

2 RepliesSo let me get this straight. New referred players get a special light up sparrow, a shader, and a special sword. Year 1 players get a kick in the teeth, a crappy sparrow that isn't nearly as fast as the raid sparrows, an awkward emblem, and a somewhat decent shader....hmm... And on top of that, their hours and hours of playtime is rewarded by a further kick in the giggle-berries by having all their year 1 gear, INCLUDING VANITY items mind you, be made completely irrelevant and obsolete to make weapon design easier for the devs. If Bungie will not respect our time investment, I will most certainly NOT respect THEIR bottom line. The only referral I will be giving any player will be to games other than Destiny unless they allow me to [b]AT MINIMUM[/b] ascend my Y1 vanity items to current light levels.

1 ReplyRefer a friend, basically a 60 dollar Dlc with a single quest and single new weapon. You can split the cost with the poor soul you talk into buying the game though. 30 dollars each. For one GD quest. Lol, Bungie you never cease to amaze.

What gets me is the PS4 XBOX ONE ONLY for refer a friend. Even though I've been doing refer a friend on my own helping noobs the only difference is I didn't stop helping after one quest line, I helped with every piece of content in the game multiple times

I will agree that it is a slap in the face to veterans, i disagree with you convincing 20 "friends" to get Destiny what with all the negative reviews and amount of bullshit Bungie has done to you as a Veteran from year 1

1 ReplyI think they should incorporate this, or something akin to this, in clans. Each clan could have designated patrons, or "Sherpas", who could take freshly awoken guardians, vassals or " Climbers", and show them the ropes for a marginal percentage of faction rep gain and xp. Don't forget clan leaders. They sit atop the pyramid scheme...float them the love too.

2 RepliesIt does suck for two reasons 1: Last Gen (I don't want to hear any of that Last should be cut crap) can see the items yet cannot get them and 2: Vetran players are basicly getting sh-t on after forking over 200 bucks
