Destiny theory: History of the psions

This is about my theory about the psions. It explains who they are, why they fight alongside the Cabal, and why they have their mysterious abilities. Not much is based on grimoire, because even the grimoire barely says anything about them. However, I believe that the psions are a race with much history. Are the psions we've seen amongst the Cabal, really their true form? Back in Destiny's early development, Bungie has made concept art for a race known as the moth people. Most people assume that this idea was scrapped, but there is no absolute certainty that this is the case. I believe that the psions are the moth people, but their race is enslaved by the Cabal, forced to fight wars for the empire. According to my theory, the psions who are drafted into the imperial army, get their wings ripped off. Then, they get augmented by getting extremely advanced technology implanted into their heads (this process is unimaginably painful). If it wasn't already clear that the psions are enslaved, here is some proof: The Taken: Psion grimiore card flat out says that they are enslaved.
You are a Psion. Clever, canny specialist. Bolted into the Cabal hierarchy: a pilot, an investigator, a manipulator, an operative. You have been taken. Be still. Your endless vigilance is done. Nothing will enslave you ever again.
"The Dust palace is lost to us again. Back in Cabal hands. Word is they've let psion flayers out of their cages to dig around in the centralized cortex." - Cayde-6 It would make sense that a psion major is called a "Psion Operant" rather than an "Imperial Psion". Imperial Cabal, are of a high rank in the empire. The psions aren't considered part of the empire. In the eyes of the emperor, the psions are nothing more than weapons to be used. The psions are slaves, confirmed. However, I still REALLY want the psions to be moth people!!! Moth people or not, it is evident that their species once had a lot of history. In fact, they might've even had the Traveler at a point (after it fled Fundament, but before it belonged to the Fallen). Here is my theory on the extensive history that was taken from the psions by the empire: Age of Famine
The planet of the psions was running out of resources, and the oceans were drying up. The fate of the psions was looking grim. But then, they found a mysterious sphere that floated in the sky.
Age of Blessing
They called it the Orb of Blessing. The psions became a race of thinkers, innovators, and inventors. Their famine was gone, and their planet became more fertile than ever before.
The Purge
The Age of Blessing came to an end when the darkness arrived. It was so advanced and so powerful that the psions couldn't understand what they were up against. All they knew was that it was powerful and merciless, so they called it the Purge. The Traveler fled the homeworld of the psions(and went to Fallens' homeworld). The psions had to face the Purge alone. Many powerful artifacts were created out of the Age of Blessing. Their only hope was to build temples and shrines within the center of their planet. These temples would house the artifacts, and hide them from the darkness.
Age of Reconstruction
After the Purge, the psions had virtually nothing left. There was only one thing left they could do: Look in the temples in the planet's core for any artifacts frm the Age of Blessing. And miraculously, some were intact. Unlike the Fallen, who would one day chase the Traveler, the psions saw no need for it, so long as they still have the artifacts. They used those artifacts to help rebuild their cities, over the course of several years.
Age of War
Eventually, the Cabal invade. At first, the psions peacefully welcome them. But the Cabal came for one purpose: to conquer, kill, and destroy. The psions had no choice but to fight back. This brutal war would rage on for centuries to come.
Age of Oppression
After more than 800 years of war, the empire finally decides to use their weapon of mass destruction to blow up the homeworld of the psions. The psions quickly surrendered if it meant the safety of their planet. The emperor decided to spare their planet, but the psions would be enslaved. At first, the psions were forced to excavate the remaining artifacts from the center of their planet and give them to the empire, only to realize that the relics could only be used by the psions. The emperor then decided to use the psions as soldiers. As weapons. The strong would be selected to have their wings ripped off, taken away from their homes, and augmented into weapons to be used by the empire. The psions never rebelled, for they knew that the empire's weapon was aimed at their home, and could be activated with the push of a button. The age of oppression has lasted for thousands of years, and still lasts today. But not for long...........(Hopefully in a future DLC. Not Forge of Gods, that's too soon.)
Edit 1: Since it was obviously clear since vanilla Destiny that the psions are slaves, I changed the title from "The psions are slaves" to "History of the psions".
