Titan Story Chp 20.3: Light Festival

After an hour or so, someone knocked on my door. I opened it to see Angelica standing there. She smiled at me. "Ready to look around?" "If you are." I walked outside and closed the door. We went through the Tower and down to the Last City. It was bustling this morning as people from all over either walked towards the Tower, out of it, or ran around to visit the many shops and things to do. We walked around and visited the various shops and attractions there were to do and it was relatively peaceful and calming. Angelica laughed and tried win a few of the games but she most talked to the children that asked her what being a Guardian was like. I simply watched most of the time. Soon I felt a little tug on my mark. I looked down to see a little kid staring wide-eyed at me. "H... hello..." He said quietly. "Hey there. What is it?" "If your a Titan... can you do a bubble shield?... No one who's come through here has been able to..." "You mean a Ward of Dawn? That's my specialty." The kid smiled big and took my hand and dragged me to his friends. "Can you please make one?!" "Sure thing." I willed the void and produced a Ward as wide as the street. They all laughed and stared as they ran around pretending to shoot Fallen then ducking back into the shield. They laughed and played until the Ward ran out. Many of them sighed. I laughed. "Don't worry. They only last for a short time but I'm sure you will be able to get other to do it." "Thank you though!" Said the kids who were excited as ever. I nodded and walked back to Angelica who was smiling at me. "You are actually quite good with kids." "No I just do what I can to make their day. Charles is the best with kids." "Charles? Really?" Elizabeth popped up and gave an annoyed response. "I find that hard to believe." "He's a jerk but he knows how to work with kids the best. It's just him." I nodded down the street. "Shall we continue?" Angelica nodded and took my arm. We walked down several more streets and did a few things, including eating and creating more Wards, until early in the evening. I lead her back up to the Tower. "Today was fun!" She said excitedly. "Glad we could have a chance to relax." "No kidding. It was fun." "Glad you tagged along with me... it was nice to just walk around and talk." I nodded. "It was, I'm glad I came along." She smiled and hugged me. Her face was near my neck as I felt her breath slightly but she pulled away and waved. "Well I will go and sleep for the rest of the day, have fun running around." "Alright." I said and watched her walk off back to the barracks. I sighed and rubbed my neck. "Still to chicken I see..." I looked over and saw the Vanguard hall ablaze with lights. I walked down the steps and into a large crowd watching a screen, there were fight matches going on but the civilians had to watch here instead of in the ring. I looked over and saw two Guardians watching the screen and standing infront of a door. I walked over. "Any room left?" They nodded and let me past. The noise grew deafening as the small area I walked into was like a catwalk and below was a large, white floor with various columns with a Guardian standing still. I shifted my way around the area until I heard a familiar voice. "Alright! Who's gonna be the next fighter to take on Lucky?! Come on! Someone's got to have the balls to do it!" I looked over to see Charles with a green cap on his head chanting at the other patrons to fight. He was standing beside a large Titan, a Hunter and a table covered in piles of Glimmer. I managed to get over there and barked. "Charles! What are you doing?" "Josiah!" He said excitedly as he zoomed over. "This has been the best day ever! I seriously want this day to never end!" "How so?.." "Well first I just ran around and stuff, meet some nice people, ran into Geneva that was a doozy (let me tell you) and her gang, and I found this awesome lot," He motioned over to the Titan and Hunter and dragged me along "And I have been rolling in Glimmer since a few hours ago. Hey! Slot, Gio? Meet my partner." The Titan named Slot had his helmet on so he only slightly turned his head and nodded, looking back at the area below. His armor was a mix of Trials and Iron Banner gear but his gauntlets were strange as they looked vaguely like slot machines. The Hunter named Gio looked over at me, hid face was covered in as strange mist that faded inbetween his face and a helmet and was covered by a black fedora. Smoke rose from his mouth slightly though it was hard to tell if he was smoking or not. He nodded at me. "Nice to find the owner of this little Light. He's been a big help in the gambling." I glanced at Charles. "Gambling?..." "You better believe it! I've gotten so good I've just put your entire fortune in there and it's tripled!" "Seriously?! We could lose that!" Charles laughed. "Not as long as Lucky stays in the ring." I glanced down at the Guardian there. He also wore a fedora but it showed his face clearly. He smoked a rather large cigar and his robes were covered in detailed tattoos and designs, the noticeable ones being a burning dollar sign on his back and three 7's along his shoulder blades, each on a different color of red, blue and purple. He stood perfectly still except to blow smoke out of his mouth, waiting. I shook my head. "Charles you need to quit." "No way! Besides I can't just get up and quit unless I said I wanted to quit before I placed my next bet, which I didn't." I sighed. "Good lord..." A large commotion soon appeared on the opposite end of the ring as a Titan hopped down into the ring. Charles yelled in excitement. "Place your bets boys! Here comes another fight!" Lucky glanced up at the Titan. He took the cigar out of his mouth and flicked it up at Gio, who caught it with ease. Lucky rolled his shoulders and let his hand run over the red seven on his neck, which flared to life slightly. The Titan made some sort of rude comment and attacked. As the two brawled in the middle, Cayde's voice rang out in the ring. "Well looks like another challenger has taken on Lucky!" His voice commented on the fight for the audience outside no doubt. Slot simply grunted and pulled a coin from his pocket. He slipped it into a slot in the right side of his shoulder and pulled the red lever. The dials spun quickly as he mumbled random nonsense so himself. "Black 5. Full House. Lemon, Seven, Lemon. Punch, punch, super. Winner by super." I ignored him as the fight raged on. The two were in a punching match as the Titan tried to get in close to the Warlock. Lucky side stepped and zapped the Titan with an Arc bolt grenade. "Oh Stormcaller this time?" Said Charles excitedly. The two continued to fight until the Titan roared and tried to Fist of Havoc the ground. The Warlock grinned and glided straight into him, knocking him out of balance and sending the Titan to the floor. He then held his hand up. The red 7 on his back glowed with bright fury as flames consumed him and he activated Storm Trance but with Solar energy. "What?!" I said stunned. "You can't do that!" "Lucky can." Said Charles, having way to much fun. Lucky glided forward as the Titan managed to get back up and Fist of Havoc forward. Lucky held his hand forward and blinked through the Havoc, his body burning to ashes quickly before reassembling on the other side. The Titan growled and turned around as Lucky held his palms foward and gushing flames spewed from his wrists, sending the Titan to Ghost respawn. The crowd cheered as Cayde spoke again. "Once again, Lucky managed to push through with a burning passion for finishing the job. This is real talent folks." I stared in disbelief as the Titan respawned and got out of the ring. "How..." "He's Lucky! That's why!" Charles said happily. "What's next.. wait... No!" Lucky blinked out of the ring and held up his hand, signifying he was done for the night and catching the cigar Gio flung at him. He glanced at Slot and Gio, nodded and walked out. They nodded in response and glanced back at the crowd. "This isn't good! I was guarunteed a wain with Lucky! I'll recall next match." Charles looked genuinely worried. "I can't loose all of it..." "Your kidding right?... It's all or nothing?" I asked. "Well... after all that I betted... Yes..." "Why did I let you do anything Charles?..." "Cause your an idiot..." I sighed and watched as a female Exo hopped into the ring. She was a Warlock with a perfect form and a popular favorite to the crowd but mostly male. "Well well well! The infamous Natasha-00 has stepped in! Who will face this fine specimen of Exo tech?" Said Cayde over the crowds cheers. Natasha kissed her hand and blew it at the crowd and they cheered in response. After a while another Exo hopped in the ring, his green plates and blue eyes showed and he looked rather upset. "Wait... Rex?!" Said Charles. "He's going in to beat up a chick?! This aught to be good." He gained a new knot on his shell and he spiraled acoss the area in agony. The bell sounded and the match began. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/171506863/0/0 link to chapter 20 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/174023472/0/0 link to chapter 20.6
