Exotic History: Torrent of Silence #2
This title of Exotic History is made possibke by combatticus
The Skiff moved quietly through the space of the Reef as it near it's destination. Several Captains and Vandals sat quietly awaiting their mark. The Silent Fang have trained long and hard for this and we're determined to get their Baroness back. Taraksor sat quietly near the front section. His mutilated left arm was wrapped around his stomach as custom, in reach of his arc blade. He closed his eyes and smelt the ether running within his mask, just incase it was his last. A Vandal opened the door leading to the cockpit. "We are close, be ready to board on the mark." It said in the Eliksni language before going back to its station. Many of the Fallen shifted slightly to get ready but otherwise remained still. The Skiff slowed to a stop and gently landed on something. The bay doors opened as each one hopped down from their seat onto a bar, supporting them, then down once again onto the plates of the Prison of Elders. The Vandals moved quickly to breach the hull while the Captains remained on watch. Taraksor pulled his rifle from his back and looked around. Everything was too still for this mission and being the Fang, this meant trouble. The Vandals breached the hull, creating a temporary airlock and motioned for them to follow. The main Captain held up his hand before everyone could go in. "We get Drevis first and any other of the Silent Fang held here. If we can afford it, we grab others, if not we leave them for now." They all nodded as they entered the airlock, pressurized it and walked in, waiting for the others to get in as well. Taraksor was in the middle of the pack and the main Captain motioned forward. "Group one prepare your part." Taraksor and one other Captain nodded as the moved silently down the hallway towards the end. They looked around each corner and proceeded forward, scouting and mapping the area for future jail breaks. "This seems suspicious..." Grumbled Helikses, the Captain near Taraksor. "There should be more guards..." "Maybe they just don't care..." Remarked Taraksor quietly. "Would surprise me that these scum..." The paused as they heard footsteps approaching. They activated their cloaking ability and hid, blending into the shadows. The two Awoken guards passed by without ever noticing them. Taraksor watched them leave around the corner. "They don't even pay attention..." He said snarkily as he deactivated his cloak. "Well if they noticed we wouldn't be doing our job." Helikses remarked as he lead the way forward. The two walked in silent regard until they reached a vent. They peeped through to reveal a barren red landscape with rusting ancient planes and small blue dots running around the area. Helikses undid the bolts to the vent and opened up. "I will move this way and find Drevis, you find a door just incase this all goes wrong." Taraksor nodded, hating the idea of this plan but they were orders. Helikses slipped through and dropped down to the floor below as Taraksor moved down the way to find a blast door. After a bit of searching, he found a blast door with Fallen text on it. He studied it carefully before leaning against the wall and waiting. "I... fo.... Dr... res... pond... soon..." Helikses' voice came up on the comes distorted and weak. "Helikses?" The main Captain was immediatly on the line. "If you found our target, find a way out now! She is top priority, we will send the Vandals to scoop up the others after she is through." "Ca... un... sta... no... con..." Helikses' voices faded as the connection broke. Taraksor waited patiently for instructions but they never came. He was about to ask what to do when a loud ruckus came from behind the blast door. He jabbed the access prompt with his lower right arm and walked through the door. Awoken guards had realized Helikses and were engaging. Drevis was fighting back, along with several Vandals but they were losing. Taraksor quickly aimed his rifle and shot, sending silent arc droplets of death to the guards. Three died by his blasts before they noticed him and began to fire back. Silent Fang began to pour from other places and roar in anger, attacking the Guards and pushing them back. Drevis fought along side them in a fury of arc blades. Her dance was exotic and devastating. Taraksor shot several more volleys of rounds before he backed off and reloaded. He watched as Drevis made her way around and climbed up the walls and hopped onto the platform near him. She glanced at him briefly. "Hurry and lead the way, I grow weary of this place." Taraksor nodded and walked down the hallway swiftly, retracing his path, leading his Baroness to the airlock. The two Vandals stationed there saluted briefly before letting her inside and out to the ship. Taraksor spoke through the comms. "Drevis is aboard the ship! We are awaiting..." Alarms began to rang loudly as they looked around them. The main Captain barked at Taraksor. "Get... out... NOW! We have.... get so... un befo.... we lo.... our Baron... ss..." His voice kicked out as Taraksor looked at the Vandals. "You heard him get aboard." "But... what about..." "Forget the others. We survive idiot. And we have our leader so we don't need anyone else." He shoved past the Vandal and into the airlock. He got out to the ship and boarded just as the other two Vandals got out and opened the airlock, causing the entire hallway to depressurize and several guards to float out to space. They boarded the ship and it took off swiftly. Out of the ten operants in the beginning, only three remained with Drevis. She sat in dead silence, studying her arc blade. She looked at the three remaining survivors. "After this day, we will give hell to the Awoken. We will become their worst nightmare and greatest threat. But first, I believe we have a Kell to raise." She snickered and jabbed the seat next to her. "I pray we get the other Barons attention with this one, otherwise we are a lost cause." Taraksor sat in silence and digested the words as the Stiff entered slip space towards Earth. Thank you all for tuning in!
