Loot and Engrams

So we all kind of agree that it seems the Hunters typically get more/better drops than Titans or Warlocks. Well I found a video about this, well more along the lines of a secret buff from emblems. These were originally purchased from the Speaker, but now Eva sells them not to far from the speaker. She's the creepy old lady that sells emblems and shaders. I have linked a video, and the ones talked about you can buy from Eva. She restocks daily, so keep you eye open. I will say my Hunter has Blessing of the Gifted emblem and I have noticed a lot more rare drops at low levels and higher levels including a good amount more Legendary/exotic drops than my titan. Also note that all of these are a "Blessing of ....." of some sort or another. Also note each one costs motes of light. If I'm correct TTK has new ones. Worth looking into. • Topic: 300+ Light Well from what I have seen there are a few ways to reach 300+ Light in the Current expansion. First you can raid and get raid gear that will increase your light. That is if you are in a clan that raids, or like/don't mind doing a LFR. LFR gets tricky, since you will be with others players who either have or not have played the raid content. Best thing to do for your first round in LFR is research videos that show a walk through or a boss fight, that way you have an idea of what to do and how you can help. I know for Badd Company it is a simple issue of getting everyone on the same console. The second method, which is what I'm currently doing, is completing and gaining perks from Iron Banners. A handful of gear drops from these will place your light level just above 300. After banner I personally went from 294 to 302 in all my maxed gear. Currently as of this post, I can cap it at 304, but I expect this to get better due to this next point. Engrams: Between 250-290 light, from what I have seen, when turning in engrams, weapons and armor have a very good chance to be a 260-290ish light level. Just as you would when leveling, saving back your engrams, this allows you to come out of the 170-190 light into 260+ at max level. Example was my lock. I ended up at 198 light when I hit level 40. Once I used all my engrams I was pulling 282 light. BUT this is the point → Once you can get your light level 300+, the engrams shift with you. I hear both 300 and 301 is the minimum needed for total light level. At this number the chances of blues, purples, and yellow engrams becoming 300+ items increases. A current theory going around the community and on Youtube bloggers is that blues have a slight increase in chances, purples have a better chance than blues, and that yellows have a very high chance at all being 300+. I can say I have had no blues or purples above 300 come from engrams. My Banner items are my current best light level. I will say though my yellows have a current 50% chance. I have since broke down two yellows. I got hunter gloves at 290 and I got Suros Regime at 310. My theory on yellows in this and is in ranges. Your light level 200-280ish → yellow engrams will turn into a 280 item Your light level 280ish-300 → yellow engrams will turn into a 290 item Your light level 301-current max → yellow engrams will turn into 310 items If anyone else has seen anything other than what I have posted, please share. But holding back your purples and yellow engrams seems to help increase your chances of high gear, if you are unable to raid. But you should take advantage or Iron Banners. November was good to me, and with the Dec 15' matches coming soon, I seriously suggest people to play banner, put your head down and push through it, get your rank 3 and 5 gifts, during this, keep all banner shaders, emblems, and weapons equipped for that added bonus to points and increase chance at better item drops during the score screen. Just some theories for people to mess with.

 • Year 1 and Year 2 exotics Finding and Buying So we all know know that we can buy Exotics in true form or engram form. When you do so it unlocks this item in the armory and weapons claim by the Vanguard. When you find an exotics in the wild off of bosses or chests, this will do the same thing. Breaking these items down allows you to get exotic shards. Exotic shards to a few things. You can infuse stronger items to exotics, buy glass needles, which are in turn used to change exotic properties. The shards also allow you to create additional copies of exotic armor and weapons you have unlocked. Armor is class specific, while weapons are for all toons, minus the ones you unlock that are class specific. If you were lucky to play year one, I was not, you may have already unlocked exotics in the armory. If you are like me and do old raids and strikes to acquire what is still able to be acquired, you can unlock these in the year one slot of the armory. In either case, you can also upgrade to the year 2 versions of these weapons. Well the ones Bungie has formally upgraded. Unless you have already found the year 2 version, these upgraded versions cost legendary marks, roughly 150 per I think. If you already have found an item, you can purchase another by using glimmer and typically one exotic shard. For example; I did PoE the other day. I got the machine gun Thunderlord (year 1). I unlocked it in year 1 and in year 2, since it has a Bungie upgrade. My year 1 will cost me 1 shard and glimmer. Since I do not have a year 2 yet, it will cost me 150 LM. I do have a few weapons like hawkmoon unlocked and the supercell unlocked. These will cost me a shard and glimmer to make copies. This is nice for a few reasons. Xur comes around, and maybe you don't use the items he sells and/or you are going for shards anyway. Purchase one of everything as he sells it and break them down for shards for upgrades or copies. This way as you change your mind you can go to the armory and make new ones. As for the TTK, year 2, the break downs are nearly equal to the cost of getting a new one. What I mean is I get a shard and material from the breakdown. If I for some reason change my mind and want it back, I can go to the armory and use one shard, plus a couple thousand glimmer to get a copy. Pretty even trade, since glimmer is actually easy to get if you do patrol missions. Lastly note that there are differences in year 1 and 2. Biggest one I see is the upgrade for damage. Year 2 won't have these and year 1 will.

 • I believe I posted something in another forum, but here is a better list of Strange Coin Farming per TTK. First Video shares the current methods that can be used, while the second video is a re-post of the Prison of Elders. The third video is a PoE walkthroough Methods https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEtvh8kx1XI Re-Post (ugh this guy hurts to listen too) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-P11-fskU60&index=31&list=PLaaUtW5k8Du6Dhqz1Qtf69dRtC2L-RLwA PoE Walkthrough https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKScwHe4IR8
