Weapon diversity is dead...
Im going to buy 3 hung juries and use nothing else... no point in using anything else except zhalo for arc burn and ToM for witches and oryx.
Its really a joke that elements have been removed from primaries.. to create diversity?? Deej said we would get a year 2 equivalent of fatebringer.. lol. It shows how little he understands of the game to have made that statement.
Agree? Disagree? Have you tried hung jury? I find it ridiculous in pve. Outclassing even the raid scout.. and you just buy it from dead orbit...
#so i recently stopped in the tower and checked primaries on the level 40 280+ light guardians... 50% of them used the DO vendor HJ
#i know that elemental infusion is already an idea but.. They need to let us infuse primaries with a rare material. Like crux of crota, except it will give a burn to a gun.. e.g. voidstone, solar core or an arc conductor... they drop randomly from endgame content and are rare like crux.. bungie is happy cause we still have 2 grind, we are happy cause we get elemental diversity, good idea? Bad idea?
Remember to hit like if you think the element infusion is a good idea. We can agree to disagree about the HJ if u dont like it;)

95 RepliesHung Jury is actually only the second most popular PvE primary weapon, with around 7.5% of level 40 guardians having it equipped on any given day. That's just barely more popular than Doom of Chelchis and Smite of Merain. For comparison, the most popular PvE primary right now is actually Touch of Malice at 12%. If one looks at the top 10 most popular PvE weapons, there are actually samples of all 4 of the main primary weapon archetypes.

Hung jury is a beast. So is a touch of malice and nirwens mercy. I kind of wish the range on the last word would get a slight buff though. It's range is ridiculously low and can get outclassed by shotguns. My conspiracy theory after the buffs end up with a longer range. It's just my opinion though.

I like the last extremity from the crucible vendor. I think its the robot across from shaxx on the war to the vanguard leaders.

Best thing about Hung Jury is its capacity. Other than that, meh. I don't use it anymore.

1 ReplyI feel like the hung jury is so popular because they gutted the high impact low rate of fire archtype or got rid of it completely. I store the weapons I actually use in the vault before logging off. Makes it easier when I log back on to grab what I need, if I want to play a different class than the last time I logged on.

7 RepliesApparently you haven't been privy to Nirmwens Mercy (IB pulse)? It's super badass and I loathe pulse rifles to be honest. Plus I run a different weapon on each character, suros scout for my hunter, ib pulse for my titan, and of course hung jury for my warlock.

35 RepliesWeapon diversity is great in PvE now. Year 1 I would only use 5 different primaries on a consistent basis. Those were FB, VoC, VeX, WoC, and the Fang. Now because they removed the elemental primaries I can use the weapons I enjoy rather than just simply the best options. Year 1 I never used Bad JuJu, Suros, Red Death, etc. Now I can use them knowing I'm not putting myself at distinct disadvantage. Year 1 all my characters had the same core weapons, Year 2 all my characters have different weapons. It's a refreshing experience.

6 RepliesReal question is should I just infuse the raid scout into my Hung Jury? Is the bonus damage to taken really noticeable when a ton of the raid is Hive anyway and you sacrifice Firefly? I know Cocoon is a great perk but I wear scout gloves and HJ has great reload already. I ask mainly after videos of guys rocking hard mode with simply Imago Loops, etc.

They do it on purpose. Everybody wants to get the "best weapon". Once they do, bungie nerfs it and you seek out the next best weapon. Taking away good raid weapons just makes it easier to keep you on the grind for next months best weapon since you don't have the usual awesome set of raid weapons. Bungie doesn't care if it's at the expense of the players experience as long as the play time numbers stay sky high.

1 ReplyKnow what I use? tOm for daughter and oryx, 250 meter glare and the raid heavy machine gun. For the raid. I use a suros scout and some random AR, telesto and that same machine gun the rest of the time. Know why? Because they work. Anything higher in light, I tend to infuse into what I normally use. You want to use deadlocked as your primary, that is your choice.

On the first day of TTK I got the Hung Jury from a DO package twice. Both without firefly, but really solid weapons that I still use to this day. Also love Threads upon Stars, Touch of Malice and Tlaloc. When I have enough legendary marks I will probably get the vendor one. Used up all my LM during IB. (^~^)

Lack of weapon diversity is on the community imo. Most players just go with whatever they perceive, or are told is the current "best" weapon. It's that way for PvE, it's that way for PvP. No one wants to take the time to really get good with certain weapons, far more "important" is breezing through strikes/ raids.

1 ReplyAre you kidding me? Elemental primaries were boring... All I can remember is people running Atheon's Epilogue, Fatebringer and Vision depending on Burn/Strike. Over and over again...Crota added a little bit of variety, but for the most part was still Fatebringer, Vision and Word of Crota. It took trials, and just for people who have gone flawless to see some new gun, mostly The Messenger Adept. Right now I can use any gun i want and feel good using, and I can bring it up to the level I want with infusion. I use 5-6 different primaries in the raid depending on the boss and depending on my role in that moment: if I run Gaze i use an Auto. On Warpiest i run Handcannon if i stay in the middle or pulse if I am on right/left. Scout rifle on Daughters/Oryx is the only choice that really feels "forced" but just because ToM is really made for those two fights. The weapon variety lacks a lot in the special right now, because the raid needs an high light level sniper, that is usually 1000 yards, Yasmin or Black Spindle.
