Tier 3 Court of Oryx - Thalnok: Troll Potential is Real

Last night, my fireteam went to CoO to get the calcified fragment from using our charged Antique Runes and running the Tier 3 event. As with most players, we were counting on some additional players being there in hopes of assistance from them during the encounter. We helped them out with a couple of their own fights, even the Tier 3 on Baby Crota. When it was our turn, one of them decided to be a troll. Whenever we killed the Sword Knight to grab the sword, the troll would grab the sword and jump out of the court arena to one of the landings on either side of arena across the chasm. No sword means no way to down Thalnok. My team did not realize this until about the second time the troll did this. We did not want to waste any more time with this a**hole, so we went to orbit for another lobby. Now this encounter would not be so bad if there was any way to rectify the situation. This is not world PvP where we can kill each other on a whim. Plus, we would waste too much time trying to chase after the troll and the sword. We reported the player, but my confidence in anything happening from Bungie's side is very very small. Hence, this post on the forum in hopes that Bungie will at least take a look at this particular Tier 3 event and figure out a solution. The following are my suggestions. Suggestion 1: Make the fight so that any attempt to step out of the court arena will automatically unequip the sword. In other words, the sword from the slain Sword Knight can only spawn and be used in the court arena. Any attempt to take the sword out of this area will drop the sword. This way, the players who are actively and legitimately involved in the fight can carry on with the encounter without fear of losing the one item needed to down Thalnok. Suggestion 2: Make the fight so that only the one who initiated the Tier 3 event, i.e. the one who used their Antique Rune, can pick up the fallen sword. By now, most people are aware, if not participated in, the Crota fight, and they should know the mechanics. Even if they have never been a sword bearer, it is not that difficult to do. This way, only the initiator has access to the sword. No one else. I hope no one else has had to deal with this kind of trolling and/or griefing from a fellow player. Despite bad behavior of others, I hope the above suggestions may reduce the potential for this type of nonsense.

You can actually solo thalnok. You need the Telesto exotic. First, clear adds and kill the knight, and then put the sword next to the stairs. Next, use Telesto to take down the shield, and when u know that the shield's going down when the bullets explode, pick up the sword, run to thalnok, the bullets explode, shield's down and you hit thalnok. Repeat until thalnok's death. With a 3 fireteam with telesto, the one with telesto is going to take care of the shield, the one of the two remaining with higher light uses the sword and the third is add clearer. If timed correctly with telesto bullets, one sword with 300 light should kill thalnok (6 hits)
