With the introduction of re-rolling in HOW I used a ton of my parts for the "perfect roll" on my weapons. Now with TTK there are soooo many new weapons to upgrade and infuse. I now have literally zero weapon parts.
Yeah I know I can grind strikes and patrols but I'd rather play PvP.
Hopefully bungie can add buying weapon parts for legendary marks just like it is for materials.

Bump.

I was definitely low on parts after HoW... But I don't understand how people are running out now. I have a few hundred on each character. What's going on guys? Find a petition (or start one) to push for the gunsmith to sell weapon parts. I see no reason he shouldn't. For now you'll just have to run strikes.
-
But some people have 3,458,532 weapons parts yet others have 5, what was the question again?

I have like 10

Great Weapons parts famine of 2015
-
Yeah, I had over 3,500 part before TTK, now I can barely keep 10 on hand! I did not use any parts to upgrade factions, if I'm close to going up in rank I use motes. I'm averaging about 10 armor to 1 weapon, and usually the weapon engram turns into a mote or a coin...of course! Lol! I swear, I'd be happy with a 100 weapon parts for my reward at the end of a Nightfall! Lol! I've scrapped a lot of good weapons just to infuse one weapon. I've even pulled blueprint exotics just to get the chance of getting multiple parts per scrap! It's ridiculous! So yeah, welcome to the club! Lol!

Bungie needs to address Weapon Parts & their low drop rates. It would be nice if we could exchange Armor Materials for Weapon Parts at a 1:1 ratio & vice versa or possibly even buy them along with Armor Materials for an amount of Glimmer/Legendary Marks. If Legendary Marks was to be a solution it would have to be like 10 Legendary Marks for 100 Weapon Parts/Armor Materials because Weapon Parts/Armor Materials cannot be farmed like the other planet related materials. Armor Materials aren't a problem to get but being that there are only 3 slots for Weapon Engrams & 5 slots for Armor Engrams it's always more likely the case that you will get more Armor Engrams than Weapon Engrams. At the very least this difference between Armor & Weapon slots should be enough of an indicator that the number of Weapon Parts dropped per Weapon Engram decoded needs to be increased as opposed to the reduction which was done on a previous patch. With Weapon Forging out of the game my suggestions are definitely possible solutions to the Weapon Parts issue. Alot of the 'Fun' to Destiny is trying out all the weapons you come across which includes their differences in perks. I just don't like the feeling of keeping promising weapons in my Vault because I can't use them to their full effectiveness.

I had about 2300 weapon parts and now I'm down to... 11.
-
I have about 50-30 I had 300 beginning of last week...damn trails and hard mode! =(
-
I have around 60
It feels horrible.
I had close to 2k weapon parts pre ttk. I decided to split across all my characters. Now I'm back to consolidating on one character cause its getting really low. I've had different weapons on each character, but I'm honestly tempted to dismantle most and just keep switching weapons back and forth. It's a bit of a pain but it saves on the materials.

Edited by Urban Athem : 11/1/2015 7:04:09 PMHow many wpn parts did you have going into ttk?
-
I actually had to go grind for some parts yesterday... You are not alone
-
Your logics brutal dude. -gambled all his weapon parts like an idiot in attempts to have the "best weapon"- -bitches about costs AFTER, and proceeds to beg for refund" While plenty of us didn't pull stupid and grind it out still to maintain 100+ weapon parts. And actually grind the guns we want multiple times for a beauty roll.
-
I have 4 to my name so im in the same boat and i did the same thing as op did. Sucks now tho as can't infuse my guns up.
-
They should flip the switch that stops green engrams dropping when you reach a certain level so that they start dropping again.
-
It sucks because once you begin to max out your 3 subclasses and hit 290 light, greens won't drop anymore. That's your main influx of weapon parts gone.
-
Their easy to get
-
Signed. I think we should be able to trade armor materials for them (visa versa)

I feel this. I wouldn't mind being low on them if there was an effective way of getting them. Like using planet materials or glimmer.

I have about 2000 so no issues there. However I have gained probably 200+ since yesterday farming for the Imago Loop. Stupid gun will not drop.
