Do you agree or disagree? You can elaborate on this thought...it's like the Tower can have the option "assemble" a Raid fireteam. Other members in the Tower can check the Tower "Status" for Calls for Heroic Guardians. If say, I wanted to join a Raid FT, I have the option to view the currently assembled FT and inspect, then if I want to go in, I can join the FT if they accept, and equally- they have the option to view/inspect me before they accept. It can show time in queue as well, and perhaps what stage of the raid it is.
This will save many so much time, for example if the Guardian notices the Raid FT are at checkpoint X and they want that checkpoint...they can request/inspect/join accordingly, as this gives them a better option to link up appropriately. So my thoughts on this would be once we land in the Tower, and press Start, we can tab over to "see" the list of pending Guardians wanting to Raid.
PS. If you agree or disagree, please consider bumping up the post and liking it (up arrow) so it gains some traction for visibility to other forum visitors -- essentially to keep it around for an agree or disagree from them as well.
PPS...I realize that is what the invite feature we have is for in the tower, but half the time a lot gets ignored, and/or messages start to becoming annoying, so this narrows it down better by feature filtering if you will.
Thank you.
Edit: the reason I wanted to push this up for bungie to consider is we have been asking for a long time for options to find raid fireteams and even though lfg was spotlighted and works, we need to stand together firm that the game should offer this on their turf and not a third party linkup. Who has time to waste? I am sure that will mean more dedicated servers and more excuses as to why they need to focus on other stuff in the game but that is not our problem. You want to be the best and on top, you have to deliver in that manner. We are owed that much for the cost of this game so far. It's a basic truth :).

No shit. We have a lot of empty areas at the tower. Open them up. If you want to raid head to the plaza. If you want to raid oryx, stand next to his statue with lfg flag on. Nightfall and dailys should have an option for matchmaking. Absolutely no excuse for these events to lack matchmaking. Remember how those exotic quest had special strikes with nightfall difficulty and MATCHMAKING enabled? Sunless cell - exotic swords shield brothers - chaperone Fallen Saber- sleeper simulant Completed all of them with matchmade groups. Sunless cell required some communication to determine which knights could be killed or when to stop hurting the boss so we could kill knghts and boss within 30 seconds. Prision of elders needs an update and matchmaking enabled to everything. I simply did not bother with PoE due to lack of matchmaking.

Would make some sort of use of a so called "social place"

this is a great idea, ive always thought something similar should be in place. i mean it is a social space, right? lol

The result says it all

Edited by AesirSyn: 10/16/2015 3:50:27 PMI've been saying this since day 1. There is no reason we don't have an LFG tab in our character screen that let's us flag ourselves for PUGs. It would show our character and level then let us flag what activities we are looking for, including options like "any" or "no raids". Etc. The fact that this isn't in game is solely laziness on the developer's parts. I also hate going to orbit. There should be a map in the tower that let's us select where we want to go and it takes us there. This back and forth to orbit BS has got to go. Edit: the invite feature is pure garbage. I hate when people, even people I know send me random invites with no message attached. Allowing me to flag myself would allow people to see what I'm interested in. I would then get an invite with a formatted message that says. Hi, I would like to do xxx also, care to join? Random people who send me invites always get ignored. People who take the time to write a message will, if I'm able. Get helped.

This would be a great comprise.
-
Ok, so what if, in the box where the tag is, it flashes red with a message of your choosing. Ex- Crucible Champ or Need 6 4 Vog
-
How about a plain old LFG menu added to the other menus we already have? Select the strike, event, or raid, select number of players (needed) and what roles even. It's not complicated, since every other MMORPG has something similar. Bungie are just making their player base do all the work.
-
They would need to add mic on/off, level +\- 5, ect options. If I was selected to run the raid with a group and players did not have mics I would bail.
-
Good idea, but it would likely take longer than lfg. There are only 16 guardians at a time in each instance of the tower and it would be difficult to find a fire team. If there was a way around this it would be great.
-
Nope 16 user limitation would make it too small a pool of people
-
They don't have time to implement any type of LFG thing into the game, they have to make more emotes to sell
-
Edited by That's So Bliss: 10/18/2015 1:49:37 AMI wanted a server connected board in the tower you could make posts on. Saves time instead of searching the forums.
-
Don't like the inspect idea... Be like everyone have gally for crota or atheon here? (Just example)
-
FFXIV has this feature; it's called Party Finder and it really is helpful. You set your requirements and then wait for people to join up.
-
We have been asking for this since year one...ain't going to happen lol
-
No, no, no, NO! Why would you want social features in this "shared world" shooter? Go to that third party site and spend a bunch of time out of the game to try and get in the game.
-
Its actually a simple and obvious solution. The tower should have been the meeting place of all guardians seeking a team. Similarly geared and leveled guardians are instanced together in lieu of being forced together. Just another foolish choice on bungie's end.
-
The tower doesn't cut it, it is just a very small potion of the population. Simply put there needs to be a in game LFG system. There are a thousand different options available. Seek multiple activities, search for companions, do it while on patrol (no waiting in the tower). Is ages old in games that have come and went.
-
I agree with this. Sounds like fun.
-
Bravo! *bump*
-
Sounds like a great feature for the next DLC....
-
The only problem I see with this is people trying to join at the end otherwise I support this idea
