Halo 2 Worldwide Champion
The Xbox Live sponsored Halo 2 Worldwide Championship kicked off several months ago as players in 24 different countries began competing to crown regional winners. A series of mini events continued throughout each country until eventually one single person was chosen to represent in the world finals.
Today the finals took place over Xbox Live in a series of matches that would separate the best of the best and set the stage for the grand finale. While nobody at Bungie was in attendance for the finals, our contacts on the Live team did pass along some information regarding todays games.
The final pool of players came down to Japan, Germany, Netherlands, USA, France and Australia. The player from Japan won his heat giving the American, Aussie and French players their second loss and eliminating them from the competition. In the following round, Germany suffered their second defeat setting the stage for a Japan vs. Netherlands world finale.
Apparently it was a close match but King Tuur of the Netherlands pulled ahead and never looked back. Congratulations to Mr. Tuur who becomes the first ever Worldwide Halo 2 Champion and also the proud recipient of a 50" Samsung DLP HDTV, a Samsung DVD Player/Recorder, a personalized world champion trophy (featuring a 24k gold Halo 2 game disc) AND $1,500 in cash. Good stuff.

I also wonder how a person can be so ridiculously immature and ignorant.(mitch99) King Tuur proved himself to be a good player- and thats that. Had there been any other person who claims to be better playing him, maybe it might have been different. However, after all is said and done he came through with the win. I do not understand how people can constantly try to flex their egos on other people by proclaiming their greatness..---- after the tournament is over? Just too funny to me to see people on here spamming about being better only after there is no chance to actually prove themselves. I have played numerous times with the good Japanese players, such as Aimitux. I have beaten Aimitux many times in different games, does that mean im better? It all comes down to the tourney and what happens there. People- get over yourselves.. Prove it where it counts or don't talk at all-- honestly, whats the point? Along with the cheats still going around, and the fact that NOT everyone plays matchmaking means that there are other good people out there. So to the people who complain about better people representing us, matchmaking leaderboards dont mean everything! I personally don't play matchmaking enough, and yet am unheard of. I also personally challenged StK Hotshy at the MLG San Fran for a 50$ 1v1 game to which he declined. All in all. Congrats to King Tuur of Netherlands for a nice victory. just because 1 dutch kid happened to win, every other dutch person thinks they can talk smack on america. somebody should set up a dutch vs america halo2 game on xbox live if your dutch or wish u were dutch (for some reason or another) get a couple of your friends i'll gather mine n we'll play. I have been competing in another competition that i signed in from xbox.com and we are still competing well in the United States anyways and I havent lost once and this goes all the way to x-mas so ya wish me luck prizes: Xbox360 1k in cash and Brute statue(which I dont want)

Jah das best wel zielig he. Maar helaas kan hij er niet veel van. Hij doet wel zijn best maar dan krijgt hij scores als 3 - 17 enzo. Hij kan wel redelijk glitchen, maar dat is om te verbergen dat hij zo scheef is als een dooie koe. [sorry india]. En hij speeld 24/7 halo2. Marjah mss word hij ooit ergens goed in.

Vooral ik en Spin zijn te opper machtig. De rest van de wereld en Nederland is kut, en dan heb je ook nog van die mensen die Nederlanders willen zijn zoals Masterspy NL terwijl hij een Belg is.
