Hello all,
Thank you for your report of this issue. We are actively investigating why some players on the PlayStation 4 are being required to re-download the full 18 GB patch history. We are also aware that this patch may be showing up as Patch 1.17 on the console instead of Patch 2.0.1, this appears to be the client version of the patch number. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please continue your download.

• If you are encountering a 'corrupted data' error message, you may want to stop your download, clear your console cache, and then restart the download.
• Some players are reporting that while the download says it's a full 18 GB, it actually only downloading today's small patch. This is the expected behavior for PlayStation 4 downloads. However, we are still investigating the reports from some players that they are being required to re-download the full 18 GB.
[b]2:55 PM PDT 10/16/2015 EDIT TO ADD:[/b] If you are still encountering an issue with your download, please see the following suggestions:
• Start the download from the Downloads queue in the Notifications menu. Please give it time to work through the download process. As noted above, the way the PlayStation 4 handles downloads is slightly different than some players may expect. The download bar may say that is "Preparing to Download" for a while, but as long as progress is being made, please try to continue the download normally.
• As noted above, if you encounter the "corrupted data" error message or a console error code during the download, please stop or delete the download, clear your console cache, and then try again. If you encounter the issue again, please contact PlayStation Support. Here is a guide on how to clear your console cache: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12539
• If progress on the download bar stops, never starts, or otherwise stalls, you may want to try uninstalling Destiny, clearing the console cache, and then reinstalling Destiny. If you encounter the problem again, please contact PlayStation Support.

I have a Whopping 31 GB update and everyone said it was 200mb this sucks

why does destiny take so long to install and load. I had to delete destiny because of corrupt data on disk and now its going to take 18 hrs to install from disk again. Its like buying another game with the amount of internet being used and costs a lot! Why Bungie why?

It is just ridiculous that I will need to download the update again. I mean, doesn't Bungie test their updates before pushing them to the public? If I ever did that on my job, I would be fired on the spot. This is the type of problem that will make me abandon the game. I tried the shutdown restart console, but in my case it did not make a difference... 18GB to download, just stupid.

My d/l is stuck at 17.854 GB of 18.121 GB. I was getting kind of sick of the grind anyway so I may try troubleshooting steps suggested by others or may just take the opportunity to quit destiny altogether. IMO the bad update experience is little worse then being stuck at 294 light with weeks of grinding and getting nothing over 290 light drops. Iron banner offers 280, so what's the point, xur sells 280, and I've burnt through too many 3 of coins to realize I don't give a captain about 290 light exotic drops anyway.

I don't know about you guys but I solved the issue pretty easily. I have more than one user into my PS4, I just logged in with another account in my PS4, I resumed the download, and the console downloaded the new patch without any problems. Let me know if this fixed the issue for you.

So it downloaded 18th then broke now its trying to do it again can thing not happy :-(

Got it to work. if you keep getting the corrupt error message. Delete the game from you're drive. Then redownload. Workt for me

clear my console cache oh yeah it really helped not!!!!!!!!! -blam!-ing getting cannot download corrupted data bullshit every single time and wait I also need to download the entire -blam!-ing 18gb thats already installed so bungie wtf are you doing really??? its a bloody 500mb patch/update or whatever and some ppl have to download the entire -blam!-ing shit to even download something and after 2 hours of downloading it does not work why???? corrupted data error -blam!-ing message its kinda time to quit this game forever for the support for this game is the worst I´ve ever seen in my entire life -blam!-ing shit bungie

If you keep getting the corrupt error message. Delete the game from you're drive. Then redownload. Workt for me.

Bungie, bungie, bungie. Why oh why am I surprised. I have played from day one and thought I would play this game and all its successive iterations. After DLC disappointment after another finally you finished the game and gave us what was supposed to be in the original box. Bravo..... No wait..... Nope you just screwed us all again. Do you actually test things before release? Thanks for the never ending never downloading patch.
