We have a serious problem with fallacious arguments...

Bungie is introducing microtransactions? This game is pay to win! How many people think this? Be honest. It's probably more than will care to admit. The problem with this is, its not an argument. We know that Eververse is going to be the ingame microtransaction shop, and we know that they're bringing out 18 pay to use emotes, but that's as far as the evidence goes. To assume this game is pay to win, or therein will be is what's called 'Slippery Slope Fallacy'. We come up with these fallacy rules in arguments, especially in scientific debate, to make sure the information is concise, correct, and thus, believable. To assume anything is a bad thing. Now, I'm not saying that threatening Bungie that everyone will leave if they introduce a pay to win element is a bad thing. I'm all for reinforcing the position that we will not stand for a pay to win situation. But it is wrong to assume that's where their intentions lie. They claim they will be releasing more information over the next week, and they will probably address the mounting pressure from their player base on Thursday with the weekly update. Until then it is unsafe to assume anything, less you fall into your own traps. We should revisit the microtransaction issue when we have more concrete information to work with, but can everyone stop assuming this game will become a pay to win game?
