Detailed Oryx Fight Breakdown! (Spoiler)

Hey guys, there's obviously a few guides out there on how to beat Oryx, but i feel like many of them are missing some key components that we had to figure out ourselves, i'm going to try to provide the most detailed breakdown i can on the fight as well as all the mechanics. Recommended loadouts. We ran 3 titans/hunters. All hunters ran nightstalker. I did this as a titan so I cant speak a lot on their subclass setup Titans were 2 as sunbreakers with increased amount of hammers thrown. 1 titan was defender with blessing of light, increased duration and more orbs + saint 14 290+ light is a MUST. I was 297 by the time we completed the fight, with the lowest in our group as 292, the few levels make a big difference. In terms of weapons, we all ran LMGS for the most part, the special weapons varied depending on light levels. I personally ran a shotgun, auto rifle, and lmg. To trigger the event, you must walk towards the orb at the far side of the stage, Ads will spawn and a knight on each platform. Killing all of the knights is what initiates the sequence. Oryx will hover over one of the platforms on the space side of the stage(will refer to space side/door side). Whatever platform he hovers over, the sequence will start at that platform. He will slap the platform so wait until he does or you'll die. The orb runner must jump of the platform first, immediately followed by the person who's holding dowm the plate. The sequence will begin counter clockwise, just like in the previous boss fight. Now ogres are going to spawn in the same sequence the platforms are lit up. You must kill them as fast as possible. The guy who is not on a platform or running the orb will be helping with ogres with whatever side needs it most. We used supers to quickly dispose the ogres. Once the ogres are all dead, they will leave a bomb at the point at which they died. DO NOT TOUCH these until later on. Now while all this is happening, the orb guy should be pretty much done gathering the orbs. He must do this as fast as he can, when he gets the orb, he should call it out so the players holding the platforms can take cover. This is because a hive ship will spawn and if youre still on a platform, you are essentially a sitting duck. Once the orb carrier has it, he will jump down towards a yellow knight which spawns space side. The will traverse the center walkway so kill him as soon as you can. If he walks over the bombs left over by the ogres, the bomb will no longer be there. So try to kill the ogres off the middle path. Once the knight is dead, he will drop a shield will grants you invulnerability as long as youre in it's radius. The orb bearer will have this. Immediately after killing the knight, you should jump on the platform where oryx originally spawned. His chest will glow, at this point unload on him with your LMGS until he is stunned(if not stunned you'll wipe). Once stunned the orb runner and the guy who weren't on the platform should return to center and shoot his chest. Now at this point all 4 guys who were on platforms will return to their bombs where they killed the ogres. These bombs do the majority of damage to oryx, so ideally you should detonate all 4. In order to detonate it, you must stand inside of it until a prompt on the bottom left hand side says it is disarmed. It's important to coordinate this so all 4 start at the same time. Once detonated everyone must run to the center where the shield guy is, and shoot oryx. (If you are not inside the shield at the time the bombs detonate, you will die). At this point he will call in an airstrike which will highlight the ground. in order to avoid this, run in circles around the platforms with the two guys who arent around the platforms running and trying to stay out of the way. Once this is complete, oryx will shift to another platform. Rinse and repeat the sequence until he's at 50% health. When you damage him enough, he will summon you one by one into a dimension where you must kill an echo of oryx. You do not regenerate health in here so be careful. There will be a lot of thrall but ignore them and focus on the echo. While in this dimension the titan with blessing/saint 14 should pop his bubble to blind the thrall and grant the blessing. The echo will usually be shrowded in the background behind the mist. Once found pop supers accordingly. The echo will teleport around. The easiest way to DPS him is whoever sees him calls out where he is in respect to a direction(3oclock, 9oclock, etc.) If you do not kill the echo in time, you will wipe. From this point on after each round of damage he will summon you. Keep repeating the process of damaging him/killing the echo etc. Once oryx is almost dead, he will go the end of the space side stage where the orb originally spawned and try one last time to wipe you, simply shoot his chest before he does so and you win! If i left anything out let me know, feel free to check me out on xbl: sippy kup for a 5 min video i've added in upload.

You don't kill the knight that spawns from the tomb ship to get the Brand of Immortality. The guy torn between dimensions goes over to him and steals it from him by holding, "X." And why in the hell do you go onto the platforms to DPS Oryx?? It has to be near impossible for at least the one furthest away activating his Ogre Bomb to get back?? Just stand in the middle with WoL, versus BoL, and DPS from there. It is so much easier that way. Weapons ensures that you stun him, nobody rushes back or dies after activating the Ogre Bomb, and the Brand of Immortality protects everybody inside of it anyway so Blessing is pointless. Either way, nice of you to get it done. We finished it yesterday, and it's honestly not that difficult just very mechanic/timing based. Having a reliable team is a must. Edit: The guy that steals the Brand of Immortality should have a sword on, and easily takes out the knight that he stole the Brand from.

    • Nighthawk weartling gunslingers help alot with flinch phase. Having two alternate the shots works great.
