• I always thought that the carrier forms were converted grunts. From the waist down I could see the resemblance. They both waddle on short, stubby legs.

 • No, those are just Combat forms. If you read First Strike, Cortana says how the infection forms catch their pray, convert them to combat forms which then evntually turn to carrier forms

If you read First Strike, Cortana says how the infection forms catch their pray, convert them to combat forms which then evntually turn to carrier forms
Oh, I read that. I just don't believe everything that I read. I actually looked at the characters and noticed that Humans and Elites (in Halo 1) used the same group of models and never had a "transitional" between combat and carrier forms. Also, the lower legs of the carriers were far closer to Grunt physical structure than either Elite or Human. Since the Human and Elite combat forms were unique and could be related back to their "original" species, how and why would they then transform into something that was similar to neither but uniform regardless of the original host species? I also know that it's just models (in game) and the novels can embellish and add to the original concept. But for my eye? Carrier forms sure look like infected grunts. I rationalize it as they were deemed to be a species that was ineffective as combat forms so they got to "make babies" instead. Since it's all fiction, I can live with the conflict between my version and the novels.

 •
Posted by: Sir Bors Whats Tozt?
"It makes the Pfhor "sing"." I know, that doesn't help. But I don't want to hijack this thread. If you want to know what a Tozt-7 is, just ask in The Underground. No one (should) call you the other "N-word" (let me know if they do) and plenty of people will likely introduce you to some of the older and tastier aspects of Bungie-goodness.
