This site offers a nice quick run down on the lore behind destiny . It basically puts some of the most important parts of the Grimoire in order , so you can get a good grasp of what the story should have been like .

If we actaully played through all of this instead of starting from around year 2700, this game would have been the best that game that has ever come out.
-
This is going straight with my list of awesome url's, thank you sir.

If grimoire were important it would be in the game.

There are a couple of errors in the timeline on that site. For starters, it places the showdown at Dwindler's Ridge sometime late in the City Age, but that is not correct. Palamon, as described, is what would be expected of a Dark Age settlement, and indeed, Ghost Fragment: Dark Age 2 recounts a portion of the story begun in Ghost Fragment: Last Word 1 about Jaren Ward's liberation of Palamon from Magistrate Loken. Dark Age 2 finishes by stating that "only a few short years" elapse between Loken's demise and Dredgen Yor's arrival. The consequences of this misplacement ripple outward. If Dredgen Yor is a Dark Age figure, the Crucible must be a Dark Age institution, predating the dominance of the Last City. To be fair, the Grimoire states, in The City Age, that the transition out of the Dark Age is not clear-cut, but given the thresholds it suggests we can assume safely that the Crucible was founded before the Battle of Six Fronts and at a time when more survivors lived in the wilds than in the City. Again, that fits with the description of Palamon. Beyond that, though, Dredgen Yor's flight into the wilds is precipitated by the murder of at least two other Guardians, one of whom is Pahanin, the last Guardian to speak with Kabr the Legionless. Placing Pahanin's end prior to Yor's arrival at Palamon means that Kabr's expedition into the Vault of Glass must also be a Dark Age event. This once again fits with what we know of the Dark Age, as Guardians and the Vanguard were less organized at the time, and individuals were more prone to chase their own ends rather than those of the City and the Consensus.

What Bungie needs to do is start putting some books out. You know, like they did with Halo.
-
That's really cool
-
Bump for later.
-
Good read and find!
-
Nice one will look it up. That lore is like algebra to me
-
I liked this, gave a visual to the timeline I had in my head, +1
-
I have cancer?
-
Wish we got to play through all of this.
-
Imagine if we actually got playable missions through all this? Or at least missions that talked about how events led up to where we are now. Nope, instead we have to read stupid cards that are not even in the game itself and have to be pieced together by the community. Thanks Activision.
-
Something on the dreg grimore is they had four arms but they were cut off during training they determine strength and skill and the weaker ones dregs had theyre bottom arms chop chop chopped off
-
Shouldn't have to read that, It should have been in the damn game. Thanks for the link though.
-
Nice indeed. I like grimoire, and that site sums it up nice. Thanks for the share.
-
Thanks I have read the cards but this makes it easier to visualize.
