Second, they did it because they needed the money. The state is now able to tax the distribution of Marijuana to its shops, it's able to tax farming, I believe it has an applicable sales tax linked to it, similar (although not as high... whoops, bad pun) to cigarettes. Russians believe that vodka does the same thing, with the added benefit of helping those with sleeping problems sleep easier. As with anything, use it in moderation. Apples and oranges are fantastic for you, but if you eat too many, your sphincter muscle explodes with the forces of a collapsing dam and burns like a thousand suns. Yes, more people die to alcohol poisoning per year, and there's been no documented case of regs killing somebody. But laced weed can.
