So my son got a restriction today for backing out of matches in trials yesterday, and I grounded him from Destiny for a month. I know it is "just a video game", but cheating is cheating, and I will not tolerate it. The thing is he's pretty decent in crucible (way better than me), and he probably could've gone flawless with the right team. My ex wife doesn't understand it, but she backs my decision. He claims he didn't know, but we've had discussions about it before while doing random activities with myself and other clan members. What does the community think about this?

This guy is a bad parent and even worse husband. He needs to get his priorities straight.

I think I agree cheating is cheating but a month is a bit harsh maybe a week or two?
-
My dad grounded me for "cheating" in trials.
kapppppaaaaa
-
How did he cheat?

Honestly I had to do this to myself when I was banned. I didn't play for 2 months and now that I'm back, I'm having a ton of fun and I don't feel the need to cheat. I'm just focused on getting better rather than finding an easier way.

100% support it. Although it is a game, its also taking the time away from doing or learning other things. If you've found away to ingrain real life lessons in your child whilst in an "alternate reality" then I think you've done something that many more parents should follow. More often then not video games are used by children completely unsupervised. Props to you. I think every event in life is a learning opportunity, big or small, real or not, it all builds towards the character of tomorrows adults.

Good to know someone is doing something about cheaters.

😷😲 can't beat em?... Cheat em.

Are you sure it wasn't your yacht?

You'r and monster

A month is a little long. Otherwise, good for you.
-
I agree with your decision although 1 month seems like a little bit too long
-
Good on you

Real or not, the father is teaching his child right from wrong. Teaching him character. And if you idiots and all of your participation trophies can suck it with Trebec for all I care. Whether it's a video game or board game or a game played outside, my kids don't cheat and heaven have mercy on them when I catch them cheating. Again, take your no place, Made in China, gold flaked, plastic trophies and shove them up your Phogoth.

Didn't this used to say Yacht a lot?

This is fake. Saw this post somewhere else. .. can't remember. No father would go on a gaming forum to say he grounded his son. I'll try and find it and link it. It's the ssme thing. Guy is just clever at getting hits... which I'm actually contributing too. Right now with this post Lol

You should've tried putting him in the oven for a little while.

Grounded my trials for cheating in son.

Edited by Za: 9/3/2015 4:30:13 AMDumb parent. Don't punish your child like its a stranger. You basically ground yourself when you ground your own blood.

Dismantle his Gjallarhorn, that will teach him his lesson :p
-
Absolutely the best call teach him a lesson on playing fair. On ya mate
-
Will that was a right call. Bungie did say they ban u if you cheat in any way. And for the most part what you did was right. Makes him learn to play fair in stuff out side of a game.
-
what are girls?
-
Bravo. I salute u.
-
Cheat to Win ..it's the Mexican way
-
i think you shouldve dismantled two of his best weapons
