THE HONEST OPINION... [PART 2] (The Second Twitch Stream and 8/27/2015 Weekly Update)

This is a continuation of my previous post where I gave my thoughts on the first stream which can be found here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/148277214/0/0 Now, last time I decided to be nice and touch upon both, good and bad aspects of what I saw. This time? There really wasn't a whole lot, to be honest. I mean, I suppose I could say that its good that this time it didn't appear to be nearly as scripted like last time. So there's that at least... Also, I have no intention to pull punches here with this. Its 6AM as I'm writing this, I have not had any sleep yet and my mood is just BAD right now. Particularly over various things I've been seeing on here and a noticeable LACK of what I've been seeing from Bungie in response to it all. That being said? I've got a LOT to say about what I've been seeing. Now, to be fair, I was not present for the stream either time. I decided to opt for watching the recording of the video instead on twitch and then later on youtube as well. 1: Probably the most immediate thing that I took notice of was that community questions were not being done this time. Through the entire stream, I kept expecting DeeJ or someone to pause and look to "check in" with the online audience so as to answer player feedback and elaborate more on things that we were being shown or talked about. Nothing. On top of that? I've been told by a number of people who WERE present for the stream that they were apparently all being muted/silenced? What in the hell is all that about? 2: I didn't even know Mr. Fruit existed until I saw him on this stream. And to be quite frank? I still don't care who he is. Personally? I would have much rather seen someone like Angry Joe in his place being there for this, someone who is known for being disappointed with the game's experience and doesn't devote their channel to Destiny coverage. Point of fact? If you were to take someone who has been openly against the game and the decisions made and somehow managed to make a believer out of them again? THAT would be SO MUCH MORE PREFERRED to bringing someone who is hardly even known and who is clearly just lapping up the exposure and attention given to them. This aspect I feel is a total, EPIC FAIL. It doesn't even add up, either. I mean Mr. Fruit has like, what? 100k subscribers? Angry Joe has, last time I checked, over 3 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS... With the Angry Army itself counting among the largest gaming communities in the world. Yeah, his review of Destiny was bad but you know what? IT WAS HONEST. Is Bungie really so petty that they will cut all ties to someone who forms their own, unbiased opinion about their product and gives criticism about it? You don't want him coming back and doing anything else for you because you're afraid of what he might do or say? Or maybe its because he won't accept anymore offers? I don't know, I mean I'd really wish someone from Bungie would explain this to me, I fail to see the logic in it. Which brings me to my next point! 3: WHY DO WE KEEP GETTING INFORMATION ABOUT THE GAME FROM OTHER MEDIA SOURCES!? Why are people having to buy Game Informer or this new Edge magazine crap JUST to gain access to information about the expansion when you have an ENTIRE WEBSITE WITH MOBILE APP SUPPORT DEDICATED TO THE GAME ITSELF!? What is this crap I'm seeing going on here? Why is it I can learn more about the game from anyone else BUT BUNGIE??? And speaking of this Edge nonsense? 4: So its fan--blam!-ing-tastic that you announce a week later that you have plans to EVENTUALLY (Lord knows what THAT will entail...) bring forward all the other Exotics in the game. This leads me to once again ask the question I had before which has yet to receive any kind of answer from Bungie: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/149235459/0/0 You finally give some sort of response on the matter regarding Year 1 Gear Ascension into Year 2, and as PREDICTED its only concerning the Exotics. This just further supports the theory we were having about it just being some sales gimmick. Let me guess, the next Paid DLC that comes out after TTK will include some sort of option to do that if players want to bring those other Exotics up to date to the Year 2 standards of power. Am I right? I bet I'm right. I'm so sick of being right at this point, to be totally honest. I really wish Bungie would just step up and prove me wrong for once. Instead there's the Fail Troll Squad that likes to go around speaking on your behalf acting like them answering questions for you actually means anything at all to me or others. (Enjoy the free bumps, though. =P ) OH OH! And let me guess, the SECOND DLC for Year 2 after TTK will offer up an option for all Year 1 Legendaries to be brought forward too, hm? Like House of Wolves? But of course that will require us to have already purchased TTK and the other DLC too. Like holding our old stuff and fan favorites hostage and asking for a ransom. But why even bother? Year 3 will offer the "DESTINY EXOTIC EDITION" for only $60 that will include all Year 1 and Year 2 content and whatever the next major expansion will end up being. Yes, I'm saying this here and now and I WILL be bookmarking this post for the sole purpose of coming back on here in a year from now and saying "I CALLED IT!" when it ends up happening. Its not like I've been proven wrong about ANYTHING that I have said to date anyways. (You know, because half the time when I'm making posts like this I'm actually WISHING in all seriousness that Bungie goes and proves me wrong. Because me being wrong about these things means they are making GOOD CHOICES so I'd be happily wrong then at that point...) 5: And talking about my prophetic powers to read the future, I'm predicting it will take players 2-3 days at the MOST to complete ALL the new content for TTK. That Strike looked crazy easy, I'm not even kidding. The entire time I'm sitting there watching the stream I just keep pointing out mistake after mistake that you guys were making. I've seen better coordination from total randoms with no communication between them. I mean can we get some hardcore people over at Bungie who know their shit? No offense, but come on, try getting some MLG folks in on it for once and see how well they fair. I think it might give you a whole new perspective for these mission designs. As per usual, its going to be nothing more than a major grind fest for all these Year 2 weapons and armor that are only going to be rendered obsolete come Year 3 anyways because screw Legendaries, right? Safe to assume with how Year 1 Legendaries have been treated thus far that YOU obviously don't give two shits about them, despite the huge outcry and demand from the community to bring everything from Year 1 forward and keep all the old content relevant. And while we're on THAT topic... 6: So what's this nonsense from Mr. Smith regarding Nightfalls and Weeklies? First off, WHY would you dumb down the Nightfall? Yeah, its hard and yeah getting kicked to orbit sucks but that is what makes it worth doing. Its CHALLENGING. And now that's being reworked? And you're also removing the Exp Bonus you get from doing it? Seriously? Let me guess, I'm gonna go out on a limb here (its not that long of one, though) and say that is all in relation to this brand new grinding experience we'll be getting. You know, that Taken King Legendary Edition is clearly designed to tempt new prospective, less jaded players to Destiny that haven't already been soiled by a year's worth of disappointment and who will likely be much more easy to please cause they are "new" to all of this. Though I'm sure they'll likely be asking the same question about why have raids in the game that offer up weapons like Fatebringer or the Word of Crota which are far lacking compared to that Hand Cannon they bought at the vendor. You know, the kind of situation Bungie said AFTER the Dark Below that they were never going to end up repeating again? Yeeeeah...just a little bitter, I'd say. Second, I just LOVE how you're being so ridiculously vague with this information. Are you afraid or something? I mean, it really does NOTHING AT ALL for your position if it looks as though you are hiding things because you're scared of what the reaction will be. I mean, that makes EVERYONE nervous at that point. Cause then all we have to think about then is all the potential bad that will come of said decision. I mean are Nightfalls and Weeklies just off the table entirely for anyone who doesn't buy TTK? THAT is something I would think would be important enough to require immediately addressing. Or are you guys just too busy rehearsing already for the big RAID REVEAL that no doubt you're praying to whatever God is favorable for ya that the final twitch stream will miraculously change our minds about all this? Cause I gotta tell ya? You instantly lose brownie points each and every day you go without saying two words about anything else. People are canceling pre-orders left and right and getting refunds on their game. As far as those people are concerned, they're just flatout DONE with Destiny altogether and have no desire to return. You've officially lost those customers for good now. And its only going to keep getting worse the longer you let it drag on. I'd highly suggest re-establishing your communication with those of us here on the forums. The silence does not help you at all.
