The Kings and Wolves Alliance

Hello and welcome Guardians! This is your friendly neighborhood AnonPig and I’m here to bring you a post on my very favorite (yes I’m obsessed don’t you judge me) Eliksni! Thanks to Planet Destiny I was shown a few of the new Achivements, and we see a very… interesting one. A remnant from the past, The House of Wolves. So first we should have a little backstory on the Eliksni. This race once had the Traveler, which is why they fight us. The Hive wishes to devour all Light in the universe almost religiously, and they fight them. The Vex… well that’s harder to say definitively, but the destruction of the Black Heart, which they worshipped, started the healing of the Traveler. And the Eliksni fight them too. So of the five races we have (us included) they fight everyone with a direct connection to their once “Great Machine” But what of the Cabal? If you spend some time over by Xander-99-40 eventually they’ll say something along the lines of
Kings listening outpost Olympus Mons, Mars
This was fantastic for me to hear the first time when i was really just cashing in some bounties to make room for more. Learning that the House of Kings have expanded beyond Earth, out to Mars!? That just… well that got me thinking. The House of Kings are the most… Diabolical House, they are the House we should fear the most. Completely unbroken, Kell Archon, and Prime all standing. Seemingly they controlling the Devils, and they also had a very curious meeting of the two Kings Barons: Paskin and Vekis, and the one Wolf Baron Yavek. For those of us who take our time in the Ruling House misson we see the three aren’t standing off ready to attack, and when we run in, they dont fight each other. In the “Enemy moves against itself” Public Events the Hive and Eliksni will fight each other as well as us. But these two Houses stand together against us. And most worrying of all, they were reviewing a hologram of the Traveler. Now, as i said (for me at least i dont know or care who found it first) Planet Destiny gave me a quick look at the most fascinating achievement yet in TTK.
Still Got Wolf Problems Complete “The Wolves of Mars” Quest
Now this is purely speculation on my part, but it has something to stand on. Could the Kings be working with the Wolves? And more likely seeing as how the Wolves lost their Kell twice, controlling them? So the question then becomes, what are they doing out there? Why are they working together on Mar instead of Earth? And what were the Kings doing before the Wolves fell? Could there be another alliance between these two Houses and the Cabal? Could the Cabal have lost so much that they are turning to the Eliksni to aid them in their war against us? And what bad blood could the two races have? They seem to both have very aligned agendas, one wishes to defeat us, and the other to defeat us and reclaim the Traveler. Thank you all for reading, this is your friendly neighborhood AnonPig, and I’ll see you all in the Taken King. AnonPig's Theories Archived

  • The beginning of Year 2 will hopefully wrap up our long-standing fight with the House of Devils in Russia, and show us what's next with the House of Wolves, although they're not in great shape either. The House of Kings should be in the Cabal DLC. The Cabal fought with the Fallen at the Twilight Gap, it would be cool to see the Kings reach out to the Cabal after the Devils and Wolves are knocked out and Winter seems to be mostly focused on Venus.

    • So in the TTK we will have a wolf problem on Mars. Do you think the Fallen and the Cabal will duke it out?

      • Maybe the Fallen want the Traveler like a crackhead wants crack. They've been deprived of the Light and want it back. The parasites have left their body and now they've become physically/mentally dependent on it. The Cabal could just be like the police of the system, coming to eliminate us and the Traveler, to end the cycle of it infecting other races.

      • Can I ask what the ketches we saw in the brief looks at cinematics were? Were those Fallen ketches or does the Queen have her own ketches? The grimoir mentions dreadnaughts in the Queens arsenal and presumably that's what we can see on the distance from the Vestian Outpost, so why would she have ketches?

          • One thing I said earlier, is if the house of winter and Devils have a close relationship"draksis and the Devils lair captain". And the house of winter had a house of kings archon. And since the wolves and kings seem pretty tight are the houses coming back together in some way? All that leaves is exile

              • I'm pretty sure by "Kings listening outpost", they mean the title of a grand place in Mars just like "Valley of the Kings" where the black gardens gate lies. When they say king I think more of something like Charlemagne especially with Mars. There's nothing in the grimoire for the fallen being on Mars and I feel like it would be more appropriate that just the house of wolves are there, pushed back to the edge of our local system because of their gruesome defeat. And I'm almost positive the Kings hated them too. But, as always, it's a really good theory and we'll just have to see in time

I don't think wolves and kings are aligned, in fact, I think the grimoire basically implies they aren't. Yaveks grimoire states he was sent by skolas to the house of kings to negotiate a deal. But the Paskin and Vekis cards show prince uldren monitoring the meeting and stating that Paskin and Vekis are not ambassadors sent to align Devils with the wolves. My gut is that the Kings were either going to kill yaveks or possibly use yaveks in a way to cause the wolves to fail, until we showed up. As grimoire stated, short of the traveler herself, Kings would never align with the wolves. Edit: as far as wolves on Mars? It's never made any sense to me why the fallen were active on all planets except Mars. I've figured it was just something to be addresses in future story lines.

                      • Cool theory but I'm more interested in the lost houses and the house of exile. I can't seem to find any lure on houses lost in "the great whirlwind". I would also like to know the house of exile origins, if they are a former recognized house or exiled members of different houses coalescing in to one nameless house.

What about Devils and winter, and if the Kings control the Devils are the kings allied with the winter. So all house but exile are connected.

                          • There is definitely a schism amongst the Eliksni. Each house wishes to subsume the other, but all of them have one objective: reclaim the Traveler's Light for themselves. The House of Kings and the House of Wolves were the most powerful clans or at least that was the case up until the capture and execution of Skolas at our hands and let's not forget that we Guardians also dealt with Kaliks Reborn, the former Prime Servitor of the Wolves.. With Skolas dead and Kaliks destroyed (again), the House of Kings are arguably in an even stronger position than they were before. They control the House of Devils and the leadership of their closest rivals, House of Winter and House of Wolves, is either dead or captured by the Queen. The House of Exile is of no consequence. They are allowed to exist to serve as a buffer between the Hive and the rest of the houses just as the Devils insulate the Hive from the House of Kings as the Kings plunder what remains of Earth and dream of destroying the last City and reclaim their seat in the shadow of the Traveler... The House of Winter and the Cabal have a common enemy in the Vex, but I am not convinced that the Cabal and Eliksni are allies. The Cabal are still struggling to gain a foothold in our system and they dare not approach too closely to the inner solar system, less they draw the combined attention of the inner system Eliksni houses, the Hive, The Vex, the Guardians, and the Awoken of the Reef. Each invader of our system has its own motivations, agenda, and reasons for being here in the wake of the Darkness. The Vex are here to assimilate, The Fallen are here to reclaim the Light, the Hive thirst to destroy the Light, and the Cabal are here for conquest. In their own way, they all serve the Darkness but they are by no means allies.

                            • I believe it was in the early design of the game that the guardians would go on some mission and find out about an alliance between the fallen and cabal. That idea just may persist.

                            • The house's concept as whole is interesting. To gather all this info and conjure this theory it must have taken some time. Also, seeing an enemy out of the normal element would be fun to encounter. I like the theory.
