Correct me if I'm wrong, but In the new strike, the cabal are trying to blow up the dreadnought. Why are we stopping them? Why don't we just let them blow it up, along with themselves?

#Destiny
-
Because they are different than us so we must solve things with explosives and bullets. Durr
-
If that happened what would happen after? Would you be happy paying $40 for just a strike?
-
Because the taken have literally taken our attention.
-
We don't want them to blow up the loot filled fortress.
-
If the Dreadnaught blows up, the shockwave will destroy at least half of the entire Sol System
-
If they destroy the dredknought a lot of valuable information goes with it.
-
The cabals original plan was to infiltrate the dreadnought. They new that a new enemy was coming to challenge them. Maybe the cabal general is the one who issued the hit. Next DLC?
-
Not sure if anyone's already said this but I think I remember it being something to do with the size of the explosion taking out half the solar system with it - so earth and the last city. I totally may have imagined it though.
-
The Cabal are planning to blow up the Dreadnaught as an ultimatum to give them their commander back from the Taken, however they don't know that's impossible. And if they blow up the Dreadnaught it would take most of the solar system with it. So yeah its up to us to stop them, and it wouldn't be fun for the Cabal to kill Oryx.

I don't have time to explain why i don't have time to explain this...
-
I think the best thing that I got from that strike is that.. ''It's ours, get the -blam!- out!'' We are some selfish bastards lmao.
-
Because we want raid weapons and armor. Duh
-
Because it's ours now and not theirs
-
if they did that then you wouldnt have a DLC
-
Because the Dreadnought contains valuable information for the Vanguard.

Edited by Neon15: 8/30/2015 10:52:34 PMBecause if the ship blows up it will destroy our star system.and a lot of important info/loot
-
Because we want to make the entire universe angry at us
-
Im pretty sure i heard that the dreadnaught has some valuables that we dont want to lose if the cabal destroy it
-
Cos we have no chill...
-
According to Cayde-6, the Dreadnaught has valuable information that the vanguard needs.
-
Well because.......
My name's Jeff! *runs away with his pants down*
-
Would you let North Korea flatten the whole of Afghanistan to destroy the taliban?
-
Son, here's where that "listening" thing helps. The mission specifically states if they blow up the dreadnought they blow us up as well.
-
why not
-
As stated in the story mission the explosion would destroy a majority of the solar system or something like that
-
Do you remember in Halo, how the forerunners kept the flood alive for research? How they risked their lives in an attempt to find a cure? It's the same thing with the dreadnought. It's likely that the guardians are being sent to research many of the things in the ship, and grab anything and everything beneficial to the city. Plus there's probably a lot of good stuff guardians can use. Risks for rewards right? Plus we can't destroy it anyway. It would cause negative effects to the solar system.
