Seeing as though these two games are the obvious favourite fallout games by the community, I wanted to know what you guys think

New Vegas polished some of the things from Fallout 3. However, I liked Fallout 3 better. Maybe because I played it before New Vegas, I don't know. For example: Aim down SIghts in F3 is just a slight camera zoom. In NV you actually Aim down the sights of the weapon. Factions: In F3 it was hard to know where you stood with various factions and karma came into play with a lot of that too. In NV, you have a tab on your Pip-boy that tells you where you stand with various factions. You can also wear disguises to sneak past people from a certain faction if they're hostile towards you. New Vegas' story seems to allow you more freedom and choices matter more. Fallout 3's story is somewhat linear but personally, I liked it better.

New Vegas. A more in depth combat system, more perks and skills to choose from (ultimately resulting in more ways to play), far better writing, better DLC, a story that makes sense and fits in with the already established lore.

NV for better DLC, weapons, story, companions and atmosphere.

Figures new Vegas would win due to the forums being mostly under 18 but really probably even mostly 16 and under and they didn't know what fallout was until new Vegas lol. Fallout 3 with the expansions though is most definitely better

I only prefer New Vegas because I have it super modded on PC.
-
I like both but NV has more replayibilty.
-
I've only played New Vegas because that's the only one I own, but I hear that 3 is better
-
I like them both the same but like 3 more because you can continue after you beat the game.
-
Fallout A Tale of Two Wastelands is better ;)
-
I like the more light up atmosphere in nv
