Ok, let's recap. Earlier in the week a lot of us (if not all) got several packages to the post master from "an unknown benefactor." Most of us, if not all, got a crap ton of strange coins from these packages.
Xur sells Gally later the very same week after a year of many people being on the struggle bus with not getting it.
Also worth noting, there are only a few more weeks to get the moments of triumph done, and many of these moments are activities where elitists require you to have Gally, thus giving you enough to buy, max, then LFG before the nerf and TTK release. This could have been done to give year 1 players an equal chance to taste Gally's might before the nerf, and the buff their resume for certain activities so all deserving year 1 players could complete their moments (if so that would've been a truly awesome thing for Bungie to be motivated by).
We also shouldn't ignore the massive amounts of Gally jokes that Deej was wheeling and dealing in the early hours of the sale, almost as if he had a list of jokes already planned.
This is all speculation and I welcome your thoughts on this matter. If true, this would coincide with the info that was released last Decemberish that Bungie has Xur set to random but withholds the right to modify his loot table before he appears in our game world.
EDIT: also, I bought Gally the second week and had it drop at Crota. That's not a brag, but a sign that all are welcome here and it doesn't matter how you got your Gally because there is no earning in video games, unless you get paid to play.
