Do you experience consistent "Loot Tables" in Destiny?
So for as long as I can remember now, I seem to only get the same exact rewards no matter what character I do or when throughout the week.
Crota: Fang of Ir Yut, Word of Crota
VoG: Vex Mythoclast, Praedyth's Timepiece
This happens 3 times per week and it's getting rather annoying. I have played them both quite a bit, ( over 50 full clears ) just about 100% on Hard Mode and still have not gotten either raid's rocket launcher or fusion rifle. In addition, I have only once gotten a class item from Crota.
Do class items drop more often in normal mode? Can you only get the launcher and the fusion rifle in normal mode Crota? I see all my clanmates get the same items too. They consistently get Praetorian Foil and Hezen Vengeance. Also the same guy in our clan continues to get the Crux of Crota now as well. Same on Gjallahorns - everyone who already has one keeps receiving them over and over again. I've gotten 7-10 Vex's and 7-10 Hawkmoons but hardly anything else.
It feels like only some accounts can get certain loot and others get the other loot. Would make sense for diversifying what people have and use, but it's consistently a let down. I enjoy the game, and I will continue to try to get these weapons and class items, but it's a real bummer. Is it even possible to get those rewards?

I have all the random droppable exotics besides necro but that's because I never cared to get it. So I say it's random but I get dupes now only because I have everything.

5 midas, 5 hardlights, like 10 fang of ir yuts, 10+ Atheons Epilogue. Yeah I get a lot of the same garbage.

I still dont have an "Earned" icebreaker. But I'm around 25 truth, 15 gally, and 8 tlw. I seriously doubt that the loot system is entirely random.

I feel like rngesus thinks I want fusion rifles all the time, I've gotten dozens of the queens one from PoE, and nightfalls seem to drop either crappy vanguard weapons or exotic rocket launchers, rarely do I get other things from nightfall. Literally went 4 weeks nightfalls got gally, dragons breath, truth, another gally, then a string of vanguard weapons that if I wanted I could just buy them from the quartermaster. This last nightfall was especially frustrating, ran it on warlock-vanguard fusion rifle, then on hunter-legendary engram that turned into...the same vanguard fusion rifle. I just want a freakin icebreaker! Lol

13 RepliesIt is entirely random which includes lots of duplicates. The probability of getting one exotic 4 times is higher than getting every exotic once. (Note that is any none defined exotic and will be different for each person. The point at which you define which exotic is repeated then it is more likely to receive one of each).

Vision and found verdict at least once a week when I ran VoG time week. Hunger every other Crota normal. Gally every 6 nightfalls. Rude Awakening every Dead Orbit package.

I do in the VoG. (At least I did until I got Fatebringer and stopped doing it) I got at least one Praedyth's Revenge or Found Verdict each time I did the Oracles and the Templar and I got a Vex at least every second time I killed Atheon. Never got a Praetorian Foil and only one Fatebringer though.

This has been a strong theory since the first month. The idea is that the game was built around being able to trade originally. When you start your character there is a hidden roll that decides your loot table. This way you can trade with people who have rolled other loot tables. No concrete evidence but it feels that way at least.

There is a difference in drops depending if you're on Normal or Hard mode for the raids. Certain items can only be obtained thru normal or hard.

Edited by monkyken: 8/20/2015 4:21:26 PMExotics, I seem to get Plan C, patience and time, suros regime and the last word on rotation. that and everyone's fav NLB Regarding Crota/Atheon you know that the other weapons only drop during earlier parts of the raid, if you purely jump in at the boss you can only pretty much get the items you have mentioned.

I might be mistaken but crota hard drops the pulse rifle, auto rifle, scout rifle, and hand cannon, while crota normal drops heavy machine gun, sniper, fusion rifle, and rocket.

Whenever i run the 28 prison i always get the wolves bane machine gun when i do it with my titan. I dont need it i prefer rockets and my ash factory has tracking so its pointless to get a machine gun haha

Bungie did say RNG will be changed so that you'll get less duplicates and more new items but it's not guaranteed
