Titan Story Chp. 9: Follow the Leader... Yay

We all stood motionless as the announcement came to an end. Many emotions were beginning to form and Sri's stood out the most. "I told you we shouldn't have teamed with them!" She stood up quickly, dropping her massive book that was caught by her Ghost. Her face was alive with rage. "They are nothing but trouble!!" Amelia huffed and glared at her. "This is no different than before 'Princess' (she practically spat out the word) just the enemy won't be mauling each other." Sri barked back. "That's why we are at a disadvantage! How are we supposed to get rid of all the Guardians here!" "We kill them moron! For the Traveler's sake, get a grip woman! Or should I say school girl" Amelia snickered. Sri's eyes began to glow an eerie purple. Her hands formed purple spheres. "Want to repeat that last statement lightning rod?" Amelia's body crackled with arc sparks. "With pleasure, School girl." Their forms caused the air to be tense with anger and power. Angelica turned pale and began to back off. I stood perfectly still as did Rex. He spoke first. "Let's save the supers for the enemy..." Charles appeared beside me. "But I wanted to the them fight!" Their heads turned to stare at me and Charles, the tension increasing. I gripped Charles fiercely. "Not now Charles, please not with them." I said between gritted teeth. He started to struggle a bit but disappeared soon after. The two women stared in my direction for a bit longer before looking at each other again. Rex glanced at me. "I suggest we move to a different spot. Seeing as you were seen camping here." I nodded. "Good idea..." Sri glared at us. "I am the leader here. I make the orders." "And I am the leader as well. Regardless of who's higher up, Rex makes a good tactical point. One we shouldn't ignore." I looked at her to stand my ground. Her eye twitched in irritation. The void spheres flared at my defiance but began to dissipate shortly after. She growled at me and barked. "Get ready to move out we leave in five." She then marched to the edge of the encampment and sat on a root. Noone moved for a minute before Laurentine hopped from his perch and began to slowly make the place seem uninhabited with Rex helping out. Angelica soon stood beside me and clutched my arm, waiting to leave. Sri glanced at all of us when we stopped moving and stood. "Let's move." She walked in a random direction and didn't look back. We all followed in tow with Amelia bringing up the rear... right behind me. I just kept walking forward as we progressed on. The evening sunlight had began to fade from the tree lines as we still trudged on. We faced several small groups in quick succession and dispatched them all without so much as a sweat. But we still just wandered aimlessly and many were tired of walking, except Rex who didn't have those feelings and our fearless leader who ignored her pain. Charles appeared beside me. "We have been walking in figure eights and circles all day. Must we map this portion of the jungle continuously?" "Not much of a choice. We follow the leader on this one." "Your a leader you know." He leaned in and stared at me. "Well good luck with having her listen to me." I rubbed my neck with my free hand. "She doesn't care." Angelica nodded slightly at the conversation and continued to clutch onto me. "Well I've had enough." Charles floated up to Sri. "No you stupid...!" "Excuse me." Charles floated dead in front of her face. "Can we stop sometime soon?" Sri simply pushed him to the side and continued walking. Her Ghost (aptly named Alfred) popped up and stared to talk with Charles. The poor thing was a simple white shell with Sri's family logo plastered on it. He had a calm and dependable attitude which made him the perfect ghost or the perfect servant to Lavashki. He spoke quietly and calmly to Charles. "Please don't irritate her more. She's already in a mood to not tolerate anything you have to say." "Exactly why she needs to be bumped from her post as leader. She's overly concerned with herself and not the rest of us!" He expanded his shell in defiance. Sri stopped and looked at him. "And how would you know?" "Cause we are tired..... TIRED and need to rest, you bi..." "What he means to say." Alfred interjected. "Is that you are wearing yourself out and the others as well. We all need to rest tonight." Sri thought for a second. "Well I do need to rest my poor feet... Alright, fine." Alfred spoke before Charles could. "There's a decent spot a few meters near us. I'll lead." He zoomed on ahead. Sri followed quickly and as did the rest. Charles stood dumbfounded as he watched us follow. "Just... how?..." The camp was small but useful. Large trees covered up most of the view of the outside while leaving one spot open as an entrance. Rex and Laurentine sat in tall branches while the rest sat on the ground. Sri filed her nails and read from her tome, practically ignoring us. Amelia sat at the entrance, while me and Angelica sat in the middle resting. She had already fallen asleep and thankfully let go of my bruised arm. I watched Sri for a bit before getting up and sitting by her. She stared at me with a condescending look. "We need to talk strategy." "We?" "Yes, we. This nonsense of roaming the jungle isn't going to work." She rolled her eyes. "Only a Titan would think of what we did today as random." "Well please enlighten me." She set her filer down and lifted her arms slightly. The book and filer disappeared as she set her hands on her lap. "Did you notice how we only ran into small isolated groups?" "Yes and?" "And not large, more organized groups?" "Yes.... So that was your doing?" "We Warlocks are good with that sort of thing. So just leave the thinking to me." "Well that's all fine and dandy but what about when we do run into those large groups? Who does what?" She simply laughed."An easy question. All we have to do is..." "Charge headfirst and pray we win? That's not strategy that's a brawl." She narrowed her eyes. "You didn't let me finish." "Because you didn't think about the team. If your plans work but they look stupid, Moral drops, people listen less and do more. Which gets us all killed." She blinked in surprise. "What are you suggesting?" I sighed. "Make plans that involve us. Give us a reason to think you are taking us somewhere and not just mindlessly drawing circles in the dirt." She paused. Her eyes watched me for a while. They were judgemental at first but then softened to a curious regard, which made her more appealing. She produced a half smile. "Well well, I didn't know Titans could be so smart." "Well give us a chance once and a while and you might surprise yourself." I stood up and sat back down by Angelica. I closed my eyes and drifted to a light sleep as I listened to Sri sketching something down. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/140325676/0/0 link to chapter 8.5 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/144843843/0/0 link to chapter 10
