Did any one else feel like it was a bad idea for them to make re-rolling a thing. I personally like the feeling of finding a weapon with good rolls. It actually made a rng system work. Plus re-rolling is just a waste of weapon parts and motes of light.

I think they did it so we would play more of a rather hollow 2nd dlc, and keep us busy till they could reset it all in the next dlc.
-
I think they did it to whittle down stockpiles of weapon parts and MoL (and by extension every other part via exchange)

Edited by Marv: 8/2/2015 8:32:50 PMThe choice to reforge weapons is a great idea. Cuts down on grinding for the specific perk on a weapon. It's really easy to get motes of light & weapon parts. Not that bad of a grind. Simply put if you don't like it don't use it. It's called having options.
-
You said it man, thy just put it in to give us some thing else to grind for. Now we can have the perfect rolls we jus have to grind for weapon parts motes glimmer lol
-
It was an experiment and it failed. At least they tried something new. Hopefully they learn from this and will implement something better.
-
It should never have been implemented - and neither should weapon ascension. It completely negated any reason for grinding content as old weapons are better, and any new weapons you did want you only need one to drop - after that you just visit the gunsmith for the perfect roll.
-
Well not sure how long youve played so sorry if i say stuff you already know but they originally used it for iron banner so people could get the IB gear that would make it worthwhile instead of waiting for the next IB. People liked this system and bungie made it for all legendaries but if you think about it theyve rushed or made a lot of shortcuts with the HoW expansions probably because a lot of this stuff will become obsolete when TTK drops
-
I've been using re rolled HoW weapons a lot more than my old ascended gear lately. It's fun to try new stuff out. It's a game after all, not a job. Go buy a Vendor weapon, give it a few rolls, try out the new perks and just screw around with it. There are other weapons in the game besides Fatebringer, Black Hammer and Gally you know.
-
All they have to do is fix the combination of perks for weapons
-
I wouldn't have an arc rocket launcher with tripod and tracking without the re-roll.
-
-
I never used it. All my weapon parts are dedicated to upgrading exotic weapons. And my old 300/331 weapons are better in every meaningful way than the trash perks on the new guns. I'm about 7 etheric light away from upgrading every old gun that I found to be regularly useful (I started grinding PoE late) and then I'm probably done until TTK comes out.
-
Get the -blam!- out you pvp playing piece of shit
-
First of all look up "gunsmith" then ask yourself "do I" want to go into pve or pvp with a mediocre weapon that will take longer to dispatch the enemy and put me at a serious disadvantage, or do I go to the "gunsmith" and get the setup that will work? The pre re-roll system gave you a one shot drop and luck really had to be one your side. Use it, don't use it, it is a choice you now have.
-
Yeah, I feel ya. The grind for a good Rng drop was way better and felt more rewarding than the grind for weapon parts to reroll till you get it.
-
To go from 1200 WPs to 50 WPs on just a couple guns to try to get a perfect roll.
-
Well I don't like re rolling either but most day one guardians can agree rng is a bitch and the chances of getting a good roll on a legendary was worse than finding exotics. We wanted this before it was here and now we want it gone now that we see what has become of the game. They need to find a balance.
-
I think it was a bad idea also.
-
Well it got rid a lot of the grind but it's still hard to get perks you like. Took me awhile to get the perks I wanted for the fulcrum.
-
Edited by Audiabt27: 8/2/2015 6:24:27 PMAnd now anyone can have a god tier weapon My radegasts fury on my warlock was a drop believe it or not
-
It's a non compulsory feature, or indeed mini game to an extent. There you go, nothing to worry about.
-
They should have limited the number of rerolls allowed for a specific weapon. If you could only reroll a gun five times it would put a much bigger block to rolling for the perfect roll while allowing the flexibility for lucky rerolls (or a killer grind to find the weapon enough times to reroll to what you want).
-
It made a lot of guns useable where before if it's perks sucked if would be forgotten about, my only problem is that it's taken away unique perks for the new exotic guns really, who really wants hidden hand on an exotic that you had to grind out PoE bosses for?
-
Feel like it was a bad idea too. Now everyone rerolls to have the same gun as everyone else
-
Idiots, this is the only way to make a rng rpg also socially competitive, diverse, and uniquely individually customisable tailored to each players playstyles and desires. So no. Shut up. This was a great new addition. They're going to add it to armor next, for sure. No. You're just wrong
-
It was a horrible addition. Bungee wanted people to have stories about each piece of gear...now every story is the same. "I got a legendary with lame perks and re-rolled until they were the same as everyone else's."
