Bungie, this doesn't make sense...
Shaming your offenders in a video might feel good, but it doesn’t factor into our process for passing down a guilty verdict – and it might get you in trouble with the moderators of your favorite Guardian clubhouse!
So you do look at videos of people cheating but don't take action, and you tell us by reporting them in such a way will get us in trouble... How the -blam!- does that make sense! Clicking "report" on a cheater is not enough as clearly some cheaters are still playing since the day ToO came out. Sometimes no one believes you with no proof. Post a video with the proof of cheaters, and you get in trouble and bungie ignores the video. Great justice there bungie, really keeping the crucible clean.

  • I think it is simply that Bungie does not want Youtube full up with Destiny cheating videos. Those videos will put off potential new customers.

  • Hey brick for brains. Maybe if you removed your head from your ass you'd realize they are talking about people spamming that shit all over the place will have zero sway over their opinion/judgement. Their point is simple and very easy for even a child (apparently not you) to figure out. You see someone doing something? You report it. End of discussion. They don't need you parading your bullshit all over the internet to get the message across (Read code of conduct if you still haven't put 2 and 2 together). They have their server logs and their own tracking systems....majority of which you will never know or discover. But I can tell you right now, with what I know (As a Network Operations Administrator) you'd be pretty damn surprised to find out what they DO have at their disposal. So take a chill pill and walk away before you embarrass yourself.

  • Honestly I don't see a reason why bungie doesn't have a inbox to expose cheaters under privacy. I mean My buddy has a video of 3 people clearly lag switching from yesterday. And we reported. However we can't use the video or post it anywhere. Because even though it is direct proof. And also gives specific names that you could check to see if they are cheating. The ones who will be punished are the ones that bring the proof. If the law ever starts to work like this I'm moving to Mars.

    • Maybe from their point of view it's considered "obtaining evidence illegally." In their "court of law" evidence brought to them from a third party could be manipulated in one of many ways, or more. So accusing someone publicly with unreliable evidence from hearsay just sounds like grounds for a mistrial. If prefer more sound cases if you really wanna have your justice. Good luck guardian!

    • get over it. i dont care, play how you want and if that is by cheating then go for it, ill just leave the game. This game is not competitive. there is no ranking and no penalties for leaving. jut get over it and stop complaining.

      • I kind of think the cheaters deserve it... but there is a problem with naming and shaming. At the point that the video is posted, Bungie has not yet determined if there was actual wrongdoing or not so you could be provoking public ire against somebody with a fail connection/the victim of some technical glitch.

Did you read the Weekly Update? Reports only notify Bungie of a possible cheater. They then check your game history/network statistics for unusual occurrences that point to manipulation/cheating. Do you expect a perfect system where every cheater is banned and nobody who did wrong isn't? It simply isn't possible - not even government enforcement agencies can do this. Be grateful they are trying, for Pete's sake. Also, naming and shaming, if allowed, can lead to witch hunts and a even more toxic community. There should be better ways to show proof, but I don't think it justifies this entitled post.

          • It's Bungie. Why would it make sense? Nothing about this game makes sense?

          • Clicking report does work, they check to see who is being reported multiple times by different people, and then they'll investigate that person. That's why all the people who have been banned were banned, because they were reported.

            • They want less evidence of cheating on the web, so they can continue to do mostly nothing about it and it seem like something is being done.

            • It is almost universal in message forums to warn people for calling out others by name. Posting a video showing someone's user name with a title of cheater on the post is like calling someone out by name. And those are really old generic forum rules observed by most forums. Just check around a few forums and read their rules of conduct and you will find it in almost if not every forum that is public.

              • If you have a video, tweet it to @bungiehelp It's the best option since they dont have a private email to send cheat reports to. The in game reporting is broken, as reports are so frequent, there's too many spam reports for bungie to sift through.

                • Bungie is saying that the video is more harassing towards the player and calling them out. (people send hate mail, and sometimes the person who posted the vid tells everyone to send hate mail.) and bungie clearly stated it doesn't help them solve the issue, so all it does is harass the player(s).
