Tell me if this sounds cool!
Today, I played crucible. As I was making my way about, I saw an unsuspecting enemy player from behind. Being a Titan, I naturally punched him in the back before he had time to react and killed him. But then I thought..
[i]What if there was a cooler way to kill people from behind?[/i]
Then it hit me. Assassinations! Like from Reach! This is a Bungie game right?
Just imagine, you're playing rumble and out of nowhere a Titan grabs you by the back of your neck using only his right arm as he slams your body face-first into the ground as you disintegrate into arc dust.
You're making your way to a capture a zone to help your team and all of a sudden a Warlock taps your shoulder, you turn around only for his hand to cover your face and he drains your very life force from your body, you slowly fade away in the air as void wisps.
You're playing clash and you have an enemy in your sights. Before you can pull the trigger, a hunter comes and kicks you right in the back of the knee. You kneel down in pain as he grabs your head and quickly slits your throat, then pushes over your lifeless body and off to find another victim.
It's be really awesome if there was something like this, and it would add another layer of diversity among all the classes. So, what do you think guys?

7 RepliesIt's really cool but it would take too long to kill. For instance theres 3 people in a control zone. You assassin kill one then try to shotgun the second but too late they watched you do that whole thing then waited behind you and assassin killed you. Or nowadays you just melee kill one shotgun kill the other two

If you notice, the backstab perk blade dancers has does ohk damage, but procs from the front or sides incredibly frequently. So they would need to fix the code first before they even consider something like that.

only problem is that bladedancers already have a perk to do this, giving everyone 1hko from behind will make that perk useless. making the perk useless would require bungie to make a new perk. making a new perk takes work on bungies part, they don't have time for extra work. not to mention it would take more work to even make these assassination animations and code them into the game. tldr: great idea, too much work

1 ReplyAlthough a great idea, it's within the contract between bungie and activi$ion that the game must stay rated T, and I feel assassinations and other actions along those lines are a little mature. I believe that's why they were left out in the first place. I may be completely wrong, but that's just my two cents.

These animations have to be quick to keep players from dying mid-animation Hunter: Stab to the skull, or slitting of the throat. Maybe you could have a mid-air assassination where the Hunter stabs the opponent in the head while upside down mid-air, grabs the knife and slams the players body to the ground once landing. Titan: Snap the neck of the opponent, or a giant back breaking punch launching the opponent in the air. Could have a crouch animation where the Titan picks up the player and snaps their back Bane style. Warlock: Both Hands on the head of the opponent, burning their body to a crisp or making it fade out of existence. Could have a move where you trip enemy player into a burning Solar grenade where you smash their head down afterward. Also could have a portal open up and roundhouse kick the opponent into the void. That's all I could think of. :P I feel as if I added more to the Warlock than the Hunter and Titan, I'll try to think of more.

I like what you described as the warlock one draining their soul, but I thought it it more as: grab their face in your hand (palm covering face) burn them until they crumble into ashes

It 'twas in fact bungie. 343 did server control and the anniversary map pack but bungie did reach. I enjoyed reach a lot. Played the beta and put a lot of hours into the PvP, my brain is dumb though.
