In all the years I have played games I have never come across shittier network. This iron banner is nearly unplayable with all.most everyone having yellow or red bars and lagging all over the place. What does bungie spend their money on because it certainly isnt on creating new weapons ideas or fixing server issues that keep getting worse.

I feel like they use the destiny servers to work on content because this happened alot pre HoW release as well

Had a guy just sit there on the flag as I shotgunned him in the face 4 times. He didn't fire back or anything, he just sat there looking at me. A moment later his teammate came by and blasted me while I was staring at him in amazement. That's the Crucible for ya.

Here is a post I made recently. I'm posting because of all the posts telling bungie to fix their servers. Many people don't understand that crucible is peer to peer connection. That means if one person has bad connection, it hurts everyone else. This is why we need dedicated servers Without a good connection, you won't be able to enjoy the new balances coming to crucible. Please, please do correct if I am wrong. Edit:
It's not P2P its a mesh hybrid network system which still communicates with Bungies servers. Google it a magazine did an interview with the lead network engineer a few years ago.

A mesh network is basically a bunch of nodes connected to each other which then communicate with a main server, basically some connections will piggy back off of others before they go to the server and it seems a Bungie doesn't prioritize faster connections or something very well or possibly the persons connection was fast but then they started lag switching bottle necking the whole inter connected network that is set up for each game. Mesh networks are not very efficient but it saves Bungie money on servers, a dedicated server network is basically a star topology because each machine communicates individually with the server the game is running on making it much more efficient but means you need more servers to host the games. Google mesh networks and star topology networks to get a better idea visually. I went to school in computer science: networking.
Thank you SNC B Chill for the info!

I was in a team against Skolas last night when i got "Beatled" It put me in a mood the rest of the night to be honest.

Edited by HyperVigiIant: 7/31/2015 3:23:42 PMBungie won't make regular crucible ping based, so it's there fault.

If it wasn't for Titanfall, I'd have thought all games on next gen were incapable of a good connection. My friends fire up the 360 to play black ops 2 now, everything else feels like playing the pokies then actually being a half decent player… My postmortem kills are through the roof.

Crucible runs off another players host not destiny servers.
-
They need independent servers.
