Edited by Unforgiven: 7/31/2015 12:43:11 AMI am tired of hearing all this shit about lag. They use your own connection to host the games! About 90% of all this shit about cheaters is people just having bad connections. For example - playing the game on shitty Wifi using your Mobile phone as access point, and then complaining that shit is slow. Time to invest into non economy internet. It is like a guy standing around scratching his ass, expecting to win a million dollars. This game requires a decent connection to play. If people weren't playing on Ghetto internet, then this kind of shit wouldn't be happening. Instead of forcing Bungie to invest in faster Servers. Why don't you invest in your own connection. Example 2: Playing on 1-5 MB/s Economy DSL connection. Thats not enough bandwidth for online gaming. That was enough in the past. But this is no longer the case, since games now send a lot more traffic and more bandwidth is required. I don't think Bungie has yet stated what is the minimum required bandwidth for playing Destiny. But I think it is at least 10mb/sec. I am sorry that is just the hard truth. I know that certain areas don't have faster internet. But maybe that is just a good enough reason for you to move to a more developed area. Be realistic. I am on a 45 meg cable connection. And everything is running perfect. NO ISSUES! Ever hear of a saying that God only helps those who help themselves?

Read the things on the community wishlist

No! Lag is imo there because they want the game to lag. They could get dedicated servers which would greatly improve things but for what ever reason they dont. People speculate its a measure to condense the skill gap but it could also be incompetence or being too hard up to be able to afford dedicated servers. I will not play activision multiplayer till this lag bs stops. I suggest you do the same...

I've been trying to get acknowledgment of this issue from bungie for a long long time, no success, we're not the only ones calling for a fix, yet go the the community wishlist bungie have compiled based on what the players want most, there's not even a mention, bullshit.

Lag armor, lag teleportations both minor and significant, phantoms that walk in straight lines. I don't know what it is about iron banner but the netcode is always a -blam!-ing disaster in there. Blink isn't unfair to fight against but when they blink and then lag teleport at the same time there's nothing you can do. People dodging bullets or start taking six or seven hawkmoon shots without caring shouldn't happen. We need some kind of commitment that they care about making the game run smoothly and we need to see improvements sooner than 200+ days down the road.

Edited by Unforgiven: 7/31/2015 11:29:30 PMI played Iron banner all night last night. No connection issues. Except 1 player was lagging very badly and I reported him for bad connection.
-
But if they admitted it was an issue they would actually have to use money and resources to fix it.....something bungie TOTALLY DOESN'T HAVE
sarcasm
They wont
-
I doubt it. Their philosophy at present is to instruct the players how to fix their own network.

more likely than not they won't and the closest that would ever go is to say that some people have better connections than others so it's not their fault (even though they designed the game).
-
Again they can't fix people's shitty internet regardless you have fast internet if they host everyone lags

Maximum bumpage!

They will not. Instead they will send their Meat Puppets to discredit your claim. Notice the increase in fanboi defence of Bungie since the 2.0 and pricing of ttk came to light? Food for thought when trying to explain to somebody who is defending them at all costs. #astroturfing #sockpuppet #meatpuppet #damagecontrol1o1

They are looking into network manipulation. However, I wish they look into making only certain connections that don't break the game be allowed in since it is online only.
-
The only way to fix it it to implement dedicated servers. It is nobody's fault if they red bar because the host is in some third world country that you can't connect to properly. Remember that it is P2P connection.

This game was given a five hundred million dollar investment from Activison. Couldn't they use some of that money to run dedicated servers? I mean EA does it in Battlefield with 64 players and they don't have that kind of investment.
-
That's exactly why they have no avenues for people to actually contact them. Only forums where they tell people that they are "always watching". Yea right.
-
It is Activision exploiting users, ruining another great Multiplayer pvp game, as they have done with COD with non dedicated servers.
-
There is lots of lag but it's not all on Bungies side.
-
They can't acknowledge anything. It'll open themselves up to lawsuits. With it being an online only game and all. If they acknowledge that the issues are on their end they will be liable. That's why every single help forum is for you to fix the problems on "your" end. Like weasel error codes folks have been getting since launch. My internet and ports are all perfect but with every new update I catch error code after error code. When asking for help via support I'm always referred to the same page I was referred to at launch. Just caught a weasel this morning in a nightfall... my internet and ports are mint. Obviously the problem is on bungies side but they will never admit it.
