What would be the absolute worst game to flop?
Imagine this. It's midnight and you're driving to Gamestop for the midnight release of Fallout 4. You drive up, get your copy and drive home to play it all night long... and after playing, it freaking sucks. It is almost like a mix of Destiny's storytelling and AC Unity's bugs that break the game.
So, what would be the worst game for this outcome?

TFW a "flop" doesn't have anything to do with the quality of the product, but rather it's commercial success. Frankly, I think that it'd be horrible for Fallout 4 or Battlefront to flop. It'd probably be a franchise killer.

Just Cause 3 isn't going to flop DayZ? Wtf?

I'd say Halo 5. In the latest vidoc, they pretty much said that Halo 5 is their make or break point, and they have to prove themselves with this.

The Division. If this game flops it'll not only make Ubisoft look horrible, but it'll also be a very disrespectful was to honor Tom Clancy's memory. Star Wars Battlefield 5 already is a flop. The creator of No Man's Sky already said what you see is what you get. I like what I've seen, so it should be OK. They would have to do something absolutely ridiculous to make Fallout flop.

4 RepliesWe all know fallout will not flop. Not like ESO did. It would be horrible of it did but there is no way. But I think the most likely to flop would battlefront. After battlefield hardline and the leaks about Battlefront I'm not very confident in the product they are trying to sell us.

I say Star Wars simply because if it does flop that'll mean that game franchise is truly cursed. Fallout could be a larger version of 3 and still make people happy.

Probably Battlefront. Doesn't matter if Fallout 4 was terrible, those of us on PC have a massive collection of mods and console gets some so that makes a difference. No Man's Sky will suck for a lot of people. It's a slow, exploration game. It's not CoD in space so a lot of people will hate it. Personally i'm looking forward to it. DayZ already has massive issues on PC. You have to be a fool to jump on a hype train for that. It's a KoS game that will piss off more people than it pleases. Just Cause 3 doesn't have the hype surrounding it that a lot of other up and coming games do. It would suck if it flopped but it wouldn't be a disaster for a lot of people. Battleborn is an FPS MOBA. No matter how good the game is the community is going to be arse. That's one game i'll be avoiding like it could give me genital warts just by playing it. Battlefront has a lot to live up to. Some people are hyping it up way too much. If that flops it's not going to be a pretty sight.

After bethesda's amazing track record and 5+ year dev times it would ruin gaming for many people if fallout or TES were to ever fail. [spoiler]For battlefront people would be dissapointed, but with EA at the helm most would not be too surprised in the end. [/spoiler] [spoiler]at this point I would not be surprised if no man's sky failed. Though many people have already jumped onto the hype train for this one so they probably wouldn't see a failure coming until it hits them. So it would end up seeming tragic for them. [/spoiler] [spoiler]Halo 5 has returned the hopes of many fans of the series, but if it were to fail then most players would just say they knew it was too good to be true and blame 343. [/spoiler] [spoiler]I haven't seen very much hype around battleborn yet. Though since its gearbox I'm sure it would quickly gain a cult following regardless of how good it is. Still, it being terrible would term many people off from it.[/spoiler] [spoiler]People have been waiting for dayZ to actually be a game for so long. Though if full release somehow failed, they would probably just go back to the mod. I feel that if these people like the game in its current state they won't really dislike the full release that much. But who knows what could change?[/spoiler]
