Hello everyone I wanted to share my idea with you and provide a few examples and reasons why this should and could happen. Let's talk about Rare (blue) tier weapons. I don't know about you guys, but I have some really cool weapons I've kept strictly for Crucible. Unfortunately I can't use them in Iron Banner or Trials of Osiris though. So it dawned on me..."Why can't I ascend my Rare weapons to Legendary?" We can turn Rare Sparrows into Legendary Sparrows if we purchase something from Xur. Some of you would rebuttal "No this can potentially be OP" I disagree though. The perfect trade off is the fact that you only have 1 special perk while a true Legendary weapon has 2. That seems like a decent trade off for me, someone who prefers base stats to perks on weapons. Possible Steps: 1. Aquire Rare Weapon 2. Level up Rare Weapon 3. Purchase "Upgrade Material" item from Xur once a week 4. Use "Upgrade Material" on Rare Weapon 5. Rare Weapon is now 331 damage and eligible to be ascended with Ascendant Material I feel this idea could be something to add immense diversity to the pvp setting and somewhat in the pve setting. I also feel that adding this to the game would be easy and could potentially give the developers more time to devote to future content while still catering to the consumers. I would really appreciate some feedback from anybody in the community. From casuals to religious players, from devs to moderators all opinions are welcome.
