I'm just spit-balling here so please bare with me. I'm not sure of a name but the signature perk will be "gunblade." Until you unlock the perk it looks and feels like an ordinary shotgun. With gunblade, a blade the runs the length of the underside of the shotgun (with space for the user to still use the pump). The gunblade itself serves kind of like a "mini super." In other words, it has to be charged by killing enemies with it.
For PVP, one would have to get 20-25 kills to charge it and it wouldn't reset on death. PVE would also require 20-25 kills to charge and would reset on death.
The "mini super" would behave like a sword of crota. Basically, you'd just swing the gun like a lunatic. I don't know if it sould do elemental damage... it may be interesting if when activated that it randomly chose an element.
So, elements aside, I think it should have a medium rate of fire (greater than matador or party crasher +1 but alot slower than invective). As far as range goes, personally I'd want longer range, as far as shotguns go, shot package maybe.
To top it all off, I think it should also have a perk to increase melee damage (possibly using the gunblade instead of a normal melee)
So, what do you guess think of my idea? Anything to make it more balanced? Please, leave me your thoughts.

The mini-super idea is interesting but may be a bit hard to balance. How about it boosts melee damage and, when you have it drawn, you melee with the gun?

The perk should be whenever you reload the gun you throw it like a throwing knife (an EXPLOSIVE throwing knife) and a new shotgun appears in your hand. XD
