If Bungie and Activi$ion announce that year one legendaries and exotics will not have a upgrade path, will you continue to play destiny?
Edit 1: For those who would stay... Imagine having to completely replace your exotic armory. Every exotic would be useless except for PvP.
Edit 2: We are trending! :D
Edit 3: We Broke 1,000! This is my biggest post yet! Thank you all for your input!

Raid weapons... should be able to. Everything else... no big deal
-
Well I guess if we gotta replace our legendary and exotic gear then that's what we are going to have to do. New shit is coming out in TTK so I don't really understand everyone's frustration...?
-
It will be no surprise to me if legendary's and below become obsolete. Though I think that would be lame. But if we can't upgrade exotics that'll be pretty lame. You can still only have 1 equipped so I don't see why they would do that.

I will be very disappointed in such a move by Bungie. But I will be staying. The thing that I would like Bungie to understand is that they don't have to take away the old weapons, just make new ones that compete for use. If that means that there are a bunch of rocket launchers that dish out death like the Gjallarhorn, then that's for the better. If that means there are more snipers that allow a player to sit and camp in PvE like they do with Icebreaker, then that's for the better. If there are more hand cannons that are 'OP' in crucible like Thorn and The Last Word, then that's for the better. "Why," you ask Bungie? Because it gives you the opportunity to create bosses and levels that deny doing the things that allow players to just rocket the boss to death, to be unable to just sit back and snipe. To level the playing field in crucible by making a greater variety (and therefore more accessible) 'OP' weapons. It gives you, Bungie, the opportunity to make the game more challenging, engaging and fun. Taking things away from your customers will only serve to frustrate, annoy, and anger them to the point that they give up/leave. Loosing customers is bad bussiness. Loosing customers where they will tell their friends that "Bungie/Destiny sucks," is bad business. Loosing customers is loosing revinue. Make a good business decision, make your customer base happy. Comunication is key. If you're not taking year one weapons away (which seeing as you are debuffing them I think is not at least the immediate case) then you defiantly need to communicate that to your customers. I hope you read this, that someone who is concerned at Bungie, I really do, and I hope you take my advice.

you gotta move on at some point... Do you want to have the same weapons for the next 9 years. That's what life is about, moving on to bigger and better things.
-
I wouldn't mind legendaries getting left behind, but I would want suitable replacements like a firefly pulse rifle (idk) instead of a rocket with shank burn. But exotics NEED to be upgraded, I would be beyond p!ssed to have my saved up collection to just become obsolete, especially something like ghallarhorn. But like I said about legendaries, THERE NEEDS TO BE SUITIBLE REPLACEMENTS.

Edited by puppyk1sses: 7/26/2015 3:08:24 AMThey'll keep exotics relevant. Legendaries, good riddance. Getting so stagnant killing everything with a FB and a VoC, etc...
-
It would be a giant -blam!- you to everyone that has played and invested time up to this point.
-
Yeah i totally want to use fatebringer for ten years. Seriously people need to calm down.
-
Pretty much every other game has guns that become obsolete with newer content. I don't understand why this is such a big deal.
-
Don't give Activision the satisfaction.
-
Switch to powdered milk. No other option.
-
I'd try it out

Edited by rasimmons918: 7/25/2015 11:45:58 PMHopefully instead of nerfing the crap out of our year one guns they give us something better to replace them with. The day I find a better scout rifle than the vision is the day I will switch.
-
I'll just use the new guns. Lol. This whole poll is a bit pointless. Other than some shitty concept art we don't know what they even are yet. They could be amazing.
-
I want them to leave because I don't want to play 10 years with the same arsenal but sure wish we could get a token and keep just one gun with us for the entire length of the series. I understand that would be different for everyone and a coding nightmare but man I can't leave my Lord High Fixer. Always be a spot in the vault for it unless they just delete them from existence.
-
My thought process is why nerf year one perks if you won't let them be brought up?
-
Such an awkwardly worded tittle.
-
Leave legendaries? Sure Leave exotics? No. How could they completely replace the entire exotic armory while keeping it unique and not just copying old stuff? I'd be find if you needed to refind exotics In a year 2 form but to completely remove them is crap.

Edited by SoldierMedicTY: 7/25/2015 11:24:55 PMLook at it from a different perspective- HOW weapons were called subpar, but why? Because we could ascend older weapons! Of course all new hand cannons would be worse than hand cannons with elemental burn damage from vog and ce. But that's what the community asked for. Then we complain that the new weapons are no good. If they had not allowed ascension, a hygia nobelesse with..... lets say full auto and firefly at 365 would have been better than voc at 331 with solar burn. No matter which way they go someone will be upset. EDIT- I believe exotics will progress EDIT 2- they should allow xur to sell a legendary upgrade that allows current ( whatever dlc we are on) weapons to have an elemental burn
-
Then those with Gjallarhorns will have to end up buying a new heavy to abuse, since no one will want someone using a 365 heavy against level 40+ enemies.
-
No this would be good because the reason we play destiny is to get better gear and weapons. What's the point of getting a new exotic if the one you have is much better. It allows you to refeel the way when we needed new weapons and armor at the start of the game. It makes you want to grind for new gear. I feel like even etheric light broke the game the way it is because there is no intention of getting new weapons. In HOW the intention was to get etheric light to upgrade your best gear into better than HOW gear.

-
Some year1 legendaries will still be competitive, like my dry rot.
-
We need new guns. Let's get rid of them all. Keep exotics, but that's it.
-
I was hoping year 1 weapons would fall off but since the nerf patch doesn't hit till ttk, now I'm sure they will be upgradable. Other wise what would be the point of the gun specific nerfs?
